I actually believe that Wilcox will improve the strong side running with TEs, and maybe he will surprise, and show up on the run. Church was always solid, but Wilcox could offer something that most aren't thinking about .. yet.
He did make a nice play on that option pass, maybe the morale around the team can inspire him to go out and be a pivotal part of this team's success.

We all know the saying “when one door closes another opens”, well that might be the scenario that plays out if the Cowboys decide to add the Tampa Bay Buccaneers former second round draft pick, Jonathan Banks.

Banks was the 43rd overall draft pick by the Buccaneers in the 2013 NFL Draft, but was released yesterday after falling out of favor with the new coaching regime in Tampa Bay.

Banks is 6’2″, 185 and was considered to be one of the best CBs in the 2013 draft after winning the Jim Thorpe Award, which by the way is given to the top defensive back in college football. He was also first-team All-SEC and first-team All-American in 2012 at Mississippi State.

Banks initially started his college career as a safety, but made the switch to cornerback his sophomore season. So, he does seem to possess some versatility, and we all know how the Dallas Cowboys love that in their players.

He is still Mississippi State’s all-time leader in interceptions with 16, which is pretty impressive when you think about it. He also had four quarterback sacks and four defensive touchdowns in college.

In his NFL career with the Buccaneers he has accumulated 130 total tackles, 16 pass deflections, seven interceptions, and one defensive touchdown.

His best season in the NFL was in 2014 in Lovie Smith’s Tampa 2 defensive scheme, when he registered 50 tackles and four interceptions. So, he could already be pretty familiar with Rod Marinelli’s defensive scheme.

For the right price, this guy sounds like he'd be a perfect fit for us in our current situation. Make it happen Jerry/FO/whoever! :)

Dang, would have been good depth.

Wish we had cap space for Joe Haden. Unfortunately , we don't with a question mark on Romo's future and Martin to pay.

We are rolling with the rook Brown.
I say if we went after Haden then we'd have to cut Carr next year. That would effectively be the swap from a cap perspective. Then essentially you have two premium contracts for CB - Haden's and Scandricks'.

Then the question will really be about resigning Mo to another deal or going elsewhere (top of draft?) to address the need. It would be doable but I agree that choices would have to be made. Particularly since we have pass rush issues. Which is he most disappointing part of the Mo news. We had one issue to fix at trade deadline and now we have potentially two.

Reports I'm seeing say possible IR, and the team doesn't seem to know the severity or course of action yet. 2-3 weeks sounds awfully optimistic.

Yeah, it might just be speculative until such time as the medical people have fully assessed the damage. The newscaster didn't mention his source, so . . . we might possibly have to wait until more is known for sure from the professionals who are examining him. The sports newscaster actually sounded convinced, though. Some groin injuries are just strains and some are more severe, so there's that, of course.

Yeah, I'm a little surprised we don't have anything more definitive yet. Hopefully later today or tomorrow .

The victory was great Sunday night, we now lead our division by two games and with the Vikes loss, we are the number one seed.

The hit to the defense is substantial, loosing Claiborne for possibly the rest of the season will take a toll, we are very thin now in the secondary.

Can Scandrick hold up,, we shall see, but it might be time to make a move.

Several teams have taken hits at RB, league wide, might be time to shop Dmac.
As of 5 minutes ago, it is too late.

DMac is not going anywhere as long as the league keeps touting their ongoing investigation into Zeke.

I heard that the legal system decided it had insufficient evidence to press any charges. I guess "innocent until proven guilty" is not good enough for the NFL.
