I was thinking that maybe Dallas would go to a 2 tight end offense for the next few games. Seems like a waste to keep Bennet on the bench when Dallas spent a 2nd rounder on him. With no healthy recievers, Bennet will probably get a lot of playing time. Maybe that sales job Jerry tried to do with Fasano being taken in the 2nd will finally come fruition this year. I do not think a linebacker will be able to cover Bennet, and if a team puts in an extra cornerback, Dallas can run right at them. This could pose some serious mismatch problems.

Well, on Hard Knocks, Garrett commented that if Bennett kept progressing, it would be hard not to get Bennett on the field more with Witten. That's paraphrasing somewhat. I may look for that segment and post it later.

i think you will see lots of 2 TE's especially in the red zone, with Jason Witten whom is 6-5, 265 and bennett whom is 6-6 255, and Curtis whom is 6-5 i think;

will be lots of 2 tight end formations and felix jones will be used some in slot and backfield for passes too

i also think the cowboys will bring up jefferson or amendola from the practice squad (unless a trade is being finalized for a vet wr) sometime this week too for the cleveland game,

We spent a second rounder on Fasano too.

I think we'll do what Jason Garrett thinks gives us the best chance to not be stopped on a given drive. If that's two tight end sets, that's what we'll run. If Bennett is as much of a weapon as it seems like he could be, then it certainly would make a lot of sense.

That's why I'm not as concerned about our receiving core as others are. We have two (hopefully two...) top tier tight ends in the passing game, and Terrell Owens and Patrick Crayton. Not bad, I don't think. Not bad at all.

And while I'm off on this almost entirely unrelated tangent, I'll stay here for a second. I think where the concern with the receivers comes in for me is in the lack of depth. If TO got hurt, then what. If Crayton got hurt, then what. But you could seriously say that about any team. "If the biggest star on this offense gets hurt, then what are they going to do?" It's not just a problem the Cowboys face.

Has Chad Jackson been claimed off waivers yet or his he now a free agent? I do not see why Dallas would not put in a claim of him. He is alot more polished than Stanback and while he wouldn't start, he would help at 3rd reciever until Hurd and Austin are ready to go.

i checked www.kffl.com you can go to that site then nfl link to hot news updates, they didnt list anywhere chad jackson had been picked up yet

they were talking bout someone in the booth saying that cleveland worked on winslow the TE in the back end of the endzone (several times in practice the browns have worked on this play), winslow was open but brady quinn threw it to the wrong side of him, thats what the announcers are saying,

Exactly. It's then and only then will be the proper time to see if Phillips and Garrett can make the proper adjustments for offsetting the loss of Owens and/or Crayton from the offense. The task is made much harder without your primary offensive threat, but it doesn't automatically equate to a game loss either. The team must be made to believe in itself if star players fall to injury. That's one of the head coach's main responsibilities. Unfortunately, he can't even begin to instill that same level of confidence in the team's fans. He has to prove it by example. Still, he should be given the chance to do even that before any worst case scenario manifests itself in my opinion.
