from the FWST article:
One source said Hamlin is looking for a contract in the same neighborhood as Cowboys strong safety Roy Williams, who during training camp of 2006 received a five-year, $25.2 million extension that included an $11.1 million signing bonus.
C'mon Jerry, just tell him off the record it was a mistake, and structure it so that it's got Roy-like numbers after Roy's gone.

If that doesn't send a message to the big hitter, maybe nothing will.

Parcells brought Fergie in to Dallas in a similiar situation. It wouldn't surprise me if he went to Miami. Bledsoe wasn't exactly young either. Don't forget Vinnie. He likes guys who know how he likes things done.

But he had a team that had gone 10-6 already. We were 6-10, but the entire team was overhauled that year. Brought in Rivera and some others to make a push. Also, w/ Bledsoe I think Parcells and alot of fans thought that we had our QB, which was one of the big problems in the 6-10 year.

You should also note that even though the team wasn't ready to go just yet that year, they were ALOT closer to contention than where Miami is right now. Ferguson was brought in to anchor the 3-4, which is what we switched to almost exclusively that season. As far as I remember that was also the year we brough in guys like Ware, Spears, and Canty.

But I agree, I doubt Parcells ties up big money in a LT who is giong to play for a team that will be lucky to win 5 games next year. By the time he churns that roster into a competitive one (which I think he will do for sure) Flozell will have retired.

Also remember that alot of the guys Parcells brought in (as a coach) were guys who had played under him and knew how he worked, but they weren't nessecarily that expensive...guys like Richie Anderson, Aaron Glenn, etc.
