Major Takeaways: Cowboys coaching, including Schottenheimer, at blame

completely different personel, and those teams could not win a playoff game, so they were not anything great.
We are not talking about playoffs we are talking about the regular season.

Maybe they were not great teams, but they still won 12 games every year except the year Dak was lost for the season with a tore hamstring.

Just saying Schotty is about 6 wins short of what McCarthy was putting up in the win column every season he was here with a healthy Dak.

Whichever was McCarthy’s final season.

Is that the specific qualifier?

6-6-1 I believe.
Just checking, seemed kinda like cherry picking when the dude goes 12 wins, 12 wins, 12 wins, Qb gets hurt doesnt make 12 wins, and the question is asked what his record was the last year.

Yeah, when your starting QB gets hurt you typically dont win as many games in the NFL, isnt this common knowledge:huh:

Btw, Dak has played the entire 2025 season so far.......hmmm, that is an auto 12 win with Big Mike, looks like Schotty is about 6 wins short right now.

Correct. Totally destroys the anti-Dak and anti-McCarthy crowds to smithereens.

These Schottyheimers have rotten egg on their faces.
:muttley:

I hate changing out yet another DC, but unless something miraculous happens between now and the end of this year, he needs gone in the off-season. But when we do, can we PLEASE for the love of God, allow Shotty to hand pick his own guy? Whether that be a guy on staff or someone outside of the organization. Whomever it will be must be tied at the hip with Shotty, in lockstep, for better or worse. Sign the new DC to a 3 year deal. We need the right guy and stability there. I'm thinking maybe elevate Aaron Whitecotton or Nick Sorenson. Tho I haven't loved our special teams this year outside of the Philly game. I'd lean towards interviewing Whitecotton to start with.

Sounds like a lot of oversimplification to me.

Didn't Rush come in and save the year, and when dak returned, everyone hated Rush for doing his job? I can't remember if that's what happened.

Or maybe just maybe, we got beat. Why does everything have to be a deep dive? It's not complicated. On Thursday night, Detroit was good enough to beat us. If KC did these mental gymnastics and over exaggerating antics of paralysis by analysis, they would have never won a championship. Losing happens but it doesn't need to define us. It's a week to week league. Onto Minnesota. Clean slate.

90% of our team did not show up to play. The Lions did not simply beat us. Our coaches helped them.

My only argument pro-Schotty is that he was given ZERO control of the Defense and the coaching personnel on that side of the ball. It has been a disaster while the offense at times has been outstanding. With that said, I've heard/seen enough of Schotty already. He's Jason Garrett Part II. He probably gets more out of his players and they like him but it's camp cupcake in Dallas still. Until that changes, nothing changes.

We need a coach with REAL control. I also realize that will probably never happen until Jerry dies.
