Garrett should cut this clown immediately. We need to be looking and finding a good solid backup for Murray anyway. Just in case he gets nicked up. Does anybody feel comfortable with randle and Dunbar toting the load if Murray goes down? I know I don't

Ryan Williams is a better player in my mind. Release Randle.

All these people saying Ryan Williams is a better player.. I want Randle gone too but if the coaches thought Williams was better, don't you think Randle would be gone already?

He's a marginal role player, who isn't a good teammate.

Which is all fine and dandy. Without him on the team the option is then Dunbar who cannot do what he does when spelling murray. Running a different formation to cover that fact has an effect on play calling and situational football.

What most of them mean is that they think Williams is a better runner. I'm not sure he is, but I do really like him as a runner. When it comes to ST and to pass protection, Randle was clearly better than Williams, which is obviously why he made the active roster and Williams did not.

Fans love to underestimate the value of a role player on the roster, but cutting Randle not only opens up a hole on your offensive roster. It decreases the number of plays you can take Murray out of the game because you're going to to rely on him more in pass protection. And then it opens up a hole on each of your coverage teams. That's not something you do on purpose if you can help it. It takes valuable depth off your team, and then you have to try to get lucky replacing it on the open market, or you have to use draft picks to do so later on.

The irony is none of this would be happening if that video hadn't been made public by the media. Whoever did this wanted to stir the pot during a crossroads (Romo injury, loss of Durant, end of win streak) in the Cowboys season. Well, mission accomplished. Randle went from proving himself a viable backup against Seattle to underwear thief to airer of dirty laundry in a heartbeat. He has himself to blame for all of the above, but we shouldn't even know about his comments during arrest, IMO. The things he said are true but shouldn't have been expressed publicly. Like I said in another thread he didn't know any better at the time, but clearly does now. Unless there's more to the story. I hope the Cowboys are smart enough to forgive the guy before it contributes to ruining their season.

I'm shocked Randle is still on the team. It's a head-scratcher.

Jason Witten, one of the most mild-mannered, "lead by example" guys in the NFL cursing Randle out on the practice field was all I needed to see.

He's an average player, and has done absolutely nothing to deserve the benefit of the doubt. He's really not worth the distraction and if Jason Garrett, Dez Bryant, etc. have to take time out of their preparation for the Cardinals to hold meetings about this, and answer questions about this, then it IS a distraction.

He's just not worth it and if this video is any indication, he's just not a very smart guy. He comes across like an idiot. Is that the kind of guy you want to trust to come through in a late December game against the Eagles? Is that the kind of guy you think Dez and Witten want to go to war with?

He should be gone.
Soften mild mannered? Lmao

What happens in the clubhouse, stays in the clubhouse......................that is the golden rule of team sports............you break the rule and talk crap about your teammates in public, don't expect to be treated as one of the group ever again.

He also better keep his head on a swivel, teams tend to police their own if you know what I mean..............maybe somebody gives him a slober-knocker in practice when he is not looking.............sends a message to the other guys on the team as to what happens when you air the team's dirty laundry in public.

The video was made public because it is a matter of public record and as such can be requested. I think in some ways it was right that the video came out, not for the public or fans to weigh in about, but for the rest of the team to the type of teammate he really is. Yeah he acted a fool, but once he started talking smack about teammates in public, that's where everything changes. It wasn't like he was drunk and didn't realize what was going on. Even if the players would forgive him, they still aren't going to trust him. Unfortunately, it's after the trade deadline, but whether he gets cut now or traded next spring, he won't be a Cowboy next season

I hear you, but all arrests don't result in the recording being released for public consumption. It was a sensationalized act intended to stir up Cowboys Nation (not to mention the locker room) and it worked.

Nobody's infallible. They've made mistakes before and they inevitably will again, just like the rest of us.

Fans love to underestimate the value of a role player on the roster, but cutting Randle not only opens up a hole on your offensive roster. It takes valuable depth off your team, and then you have to try to get lucky replacing it on the open market, or you have to use draft picks to do so later on.

All true.

But chemistry is very important as well.

And if the majority of the team doesn't want him around, the negatives outweigh the positives.

I think today is his last day on the team and predict a Monday release.

That's because nobody files a request for the video when Joe Schmoe is arrested. If you are anyone with name recognition, you can be assured the media is going to request the video so they can fill air time and write articles about it.

I don't expect Williams to suddenly be a special teams ace but I would think his pass protection has improved over the last several weeks working with Callahan and the other coaches. It's not rocket science and he has the strength/ability. Maybe Jakar Hamiltion can pick up the slack on special teams.
