its that simple.

I believe Eli is better than what people say and what some of the number show.... BUT... if you put it on Eli he CANNOT beat us.

  1. Pressure early and often.
  2. Build a big lead.
  3. Then just pressure OFTEN.
The 3 points above should describe the MO of this team. This is what we have and what we are building.

That Eli with his buddy Tiki.

Irrelevant stats. Its a clean slate.

I am not underestimating the Giants. I think we are the better team and will show that. Its all on Eli. I dont think he can do it. Its hard for any QB to do it all by himself. He has no help.

No Tiki. Regressing Eli. Potentially no Strahan. Kiwanuka being absolutely dreadful at LB. They still haven't fixed their secondary. Brandon Jacobs.

And he should have beaten us the second time last year-if it not were for Kiwi's fumble after the INT, and Plax's/Whitfield's bone-headed PFs(that killed good-looking drives), this game would have gotten ugly early.

Funny how everyone here blamed Sean Payton for exposing our playbook, when the Gints did the EXACTLY same things the Saints did the week before.

Ruben droughns, strahan will play dont be crazy that egomaniac would never miss a chance to be a hero, kiwanuka has been awful? First I heard of that, I saw him get caught out of position a couple of times when teams were running at him, same thing happened to spencer. Spencer was responsible for the td that reeves got beat on against houston by not being where he should have.

Our secondary and their secondary are both thought to be in rough shape this week, a bit of a mystery. Their offensive line is good and if they max protect and use a power running game that could give us problems late in the game.

Looks like the Gints have an RB gem in some guy by the name of Bradshaw(no relation to Terry).

Wouldn't surprise me if they use the 2 RB system of this guy and Jacobs.

BTW-don't take these preseason games too lightly. It's best these guys make mistakes IN this fake season, they end up correcting them by wk 1.

I just hope our DB's go low on Jacobs..., I dont want to see any 'Jacked Up' clips or concussions

When he is running downfield with a full head of steam , that has to be a scary sight.

I hope he doesnt get to that second level.

run blitz like crazy
hit the big man before he gets going
score when you get the ball
force eli to beat you in the air
if we can get the lead and stop the run, then eli will be pressured like crazy and when pressure eli will make mistakes.
i don't think eli is the bum some do but if you can't run and have a weak oline then it's tough for a qb to do much

Even better if he plays. I'd rather have him at DE than Kiwanuka.

kiwanuka has been awful? First I heard of that, I saw him get caught out of position a couple of times when teams were running at him, same thing happened to spencer.
Kiwanuka has been responsible for their run defense absolutely sucking. He doesn't have the mindset or the physical skills to play linebacker in a 4-3. If he played 3-4 OLB like Spencer, it'd be a good comparison, but unlike Spencer he'll be in a position showcasing his weaknesses and rarely featuring his pass-rushing strength.

Their offensive line isn't good. They have Diehl, who was their LG at LT because they couldn't find anyone else to play it. And they have Grey Ruegamer, who they signed to backup OC playing LG. It's a patchwork job that will most likely get dominated all season.

I believe the OL they had now was the same one they had the last 2 games of '06(when they benched their backup Whitfield)-they actually played alot better, especially against that blitz-happy Eagles D in the playoffs.

And a former Philly assistant is coaching the D, so I would think he would utilize Kiwi's pass rushing abilities very well in that LB position.

k We should beat them 49-0 then. You have just proven to me they suck and can not field an nfl caliber team.

Eli has played 2 very good season opening games since becoming the starter in NY. Remember the game against San Diego in San Diego, and last season's come from behind win against Philly. We need to keep him from getting comfortable early in the pocket. Rest assure, Coughlin will send a tight end in motion to double team Ware, forcing Spencer to rush from the weak side. This motion will not alllow for Spencer to be the Sam linebacker often.

I didn't say that. But you asked for reasons that people think they're not very good and I gave you some.

Losing Toomer in that second half was BIG. He, not Plax/Shockey, is Eli's favorite target b/c of his ability to catch the underneath routes, those tip-toe sideline catches, etc. The guy is really a chain-mover. And they struggled in the red zone in his absense.

Why he never gets any credit from the national sports media is mystfiying. He's definitely the anti-Tiki.

Untrue. Some QB will burn you by playing them that way. Eli cant. Until he can that should be our approach.
