How in the hell do you break a foot? I played football for 8 years and never came close to a foot injury. And it wasn't from sitting on the bench either.

Dang, will miss most of TC.

Oh well, better than missing PS/ regular season games, I guess.

A rookie missing the rest of OTA's and most of training camp isn't good and rushing him back won't help him. He has to be 100% ready to go when he comes back or he'll struggle.

Yep...and he isn't signed either. I'd be nervous if I were him. All guys should be SIGNED before they participate in OTA's IMHO. Doesn't make sense. This SUCKS btw...probably can't expect too much from him this season.

I don't know the specifics but unsigned players have some sort of insurance in the event they get injured in OTA's. They wouldn't be out there risking themselves if they didn't.

True KJJ, but I still wouldn't do it if I were a player or Agent. Not worth the risk. Jags and Dolphins had major injuries to first rounders the last couple years I believe. Teams are always fair with the players as there might be a clause in the CBA about this. (someone else can speak to that) I just like all my t's crossed and I's dotted beforehand I guess.

They have insurance and most if not all rookies participate in OTA's it's important to their development and making the team later in the summer. They're all protected in the event of injury. If they don't have a contract by training camp they don't show up.

McClain is good player when healthy. He can really take hold of that spot if he can stay on field.

Missing practice is significant. Some people say at least he'll make it for the regular season but remember this is a rookie we are talking about. Yes every position has a different learning curve but going from college to pro isn't an easy task. Just like Jaylon Smith, Jalen Ramsey, and others who have missed training camp (Dez even) it's one thing to have the mental aspect but another thing to use what you've learned and to do it in real time scenarios. Actually missing most of camp I don't expect Maliek to even be a factor I once had for him pre injury. Maybe come mid season he'll have more chances but it will suck for him and us that he is missing this time.

What part of the foot? As we learned with Dez not all foot breaks are created equal.

Imagine that? The guy that was supposed to be instant impact and create a pass rush up the middle is done?

For those that were overzealously predicting the world for this guy..............reality was that he wasnt going to do much anyway.

I guess if you're always a hammer everything begins to resemble a nail.

well there goes his first season down the tubes that's why this team is never in the hunt for the playoffs to many players not available for games.

Good thing we stocked up on DTs in this DT-rich draft.

Oh, wait. :(
