Just brutal, they are totally ripping him apart. Steve Young had to say "i think he's a good player" in a defensive way because he was saying he basically can't throw accurately even though his mechanics are good...that he's just not accurate. funny, i live in NY and I got in a huge argument at work with some Giants fan over how Eli sucks today. For the first time in my life, I'm looking forward to going into the office.

Steve Young: "If you're an accurate passer, you don't make plays like that."

Just say it Steve, the guy sucks.

He SHOULD be ripped. He hasn't lived up to the hype and I would also say that it is partly his doing as well....I can tell you that what the Mannings did during the draft still doesn't sit well with people.

"Hey N.Y., how does Rivers look now?" LOL!

PFT is normally garbage, but their live blog of the game has an interesting comment about Eli:

He has the demeanor of someone who's playing the game not because he wants to but because he's EXPECTED to.

That actually sounds accurate.

I think if Manning just went to the Chargers like he was drafted instead of making a big deal then fine... suck. But this guy had to be a BABY and force a team to trade him. If you are gonna do something like that then back it up. He DESERVES ALL OF THIS.

What about when Young said, "Eli has good footwork, he has good mechanics, but some guys... Just aren't that accurate." :lmao2:

Yep. He wanted the N.Y. media....and he's getting it. Can he handle it is the question. Maybe he should tell ol' Archie "Thanks alot dad!".

I don't have any sympathy for him. He definitely deserves it. His daddy didn't want him in San Diego.

BUT, I think Tagliabue had something to do with it too. Weren't there stories later that he talked to Daddy Manning ahead of time & then helped broker the deal? He clearly wanted a Manning on a NY team, in a major market, thinking that he'd finally have a "name" on a big market team.

The Post story from a few days ago was accurate--the Manning-Rivers trade was a bad deal for the Giants. The Chargers not only got Rivers, they got Merriman too.

He kind of has this smart*** smirk in his postgame press conference, too...

He's about to get crushed by the NY media.

That team is definitely on the verge of imploding. Actually, I think it is already.

I thought he just passed gas.

The Manning faces are all kinds of confusing.

Is it me, or does Eli S U C K as a QB. And then he goes out and gives a lame press conference after the game.

Question: Eli did you see the linebacker on the last interception that you threw tonight.

Answer: Yeah.....AAAh.... I saw him......but I moved my eyes and I thought he was moving with my eyes....so I threw it to him.

Absolutely. That's why Tags wanted him in NY--he wanted a "name" there.

Did you see, prior to our game yesterday, there was some show that put up the flex schedules for the upcoming weeks? All but one of those weeks featured the Giants. (You have to wonder if that will change.)

I get really tired of the ESPN crew sucking up to the usual suspects--Vick, both Mannings, McNabb, Favre, Moss (until recently). Vick has one decent game, & he's the next coming. How many years will they keep making excuses for him? Really boring, & none of them deserve it. They tried & tried to hype Bush--you almost expected him to walk on water--& even he's not living up to expectations. It almost seems like NFL HQ has orders out for the networks that there are certain "stars" who have to be talked up. Meanwhile, you've got legit stars like Tomlinson & Brady, who don't get nearly that much adulation. I don't like him, but Brady has 3 Super Bowls, yet he almost gets treated with a ho-hum attitude. Tomlinson is a legit great star, yet he gets very little attention.

The "faces" is the result of generations of inbreeding.
