Norm Hitzges doesn't know anything about football, that's probably because Poland plays futbol.

Dallas QB's: 39/56 for 418 Yards 1td and 3 int
Minn QB's: 19/30 for 235 Yards for 1td and 0 int

Dallas RB's: 31 attempts for 103 Yards
Minn RB's: 29 attempts for 86 Yards

Dallas defense registered: 3.0 Sacks (few blitz's)
Minn defense registered: 0 Sacks (several Blitz's)

If not for the turnovers and missed fg's, this game is more like 24-10. I wouldn't panick yet, except for the fg's.

we still registered wayyy less than 4 YPC...thats ridiculous. and most of those yards came when the first string DTs were out for Minn i would assume

the only stats that matter to me are turnovers and field position. I still cant believe our defense let that Minn. offense go 98 yards to score that first TD. Thats what was most shocking tonight.

Take the silver and blue colored glasses off. What was the rushing yardage when the Vikes had their starters in? I'm guessing it wasn't much. The o-line was b-a-d.

No panic, but he's right. The ones (OL) were pushed around tonight. Those numbers don't bear that out. This might not be the worst thing to happen to this club. I think they'll be fine. But make no mistake, that Viking defensive front had their way for the most part.

And their offense couldn't run it that well either.

Agree with you on that one, but even the best Ds in the history of the game give up those types of performances. Certainly not making excuses for a lackluster effort on the drive, but I wouldn't count on seeing too of those in a season. My guess is going to be about two or three every five games. But, I'm no blind homer. It could be more, but from what I've seen so far from this D, I would guess that they won't be a regular turnstile.

No flozell but yeah.. the vikes didn't do much other than that one drive but a mass majority of the yardage there was against the second string.

12 yards rushing at the half that included 4 yards from Bledsoe and 9 from Romo. So if my math skills are correct that's -1 from the backs. That's not even close to respectable run blocking.

I agree with most of you that the OL played terrible especially the one's that started. But let's face it........several of these guys may not be starting at Jacksonville. Quistan starting for Flozell did not play well and Gurode looked pitifull at times. If Pettite had started at LT I think the line would have played better and Parcells has said over and over that Johnson is better when facing a 4-3 defense. This game was what it was..........let a few veterans play for awhile then turn it over to the subs. Unfortunately the subs sometimes looked better than the starters. I think the line that starts in Jaxsonville will look different then the one that started tonight.......I hope that I am not too much of an optimist!

Now to be fair... the first quarter the Vikes had 8 men in the box just about every time we ran the ball.

We started passing, and the game opened up. That's why we got our running game going.

In all honesty that's not great stats for the running game (to say the least), but the Vikes were run blitzing almost the entire half. I PRAY that every team in the league does that to us all year long. TO, Glenn, Whitten and Crayton (or any other of our up and coming receivers) and the coaching staff will make the adjustments and torch any team that tries to live by that philosophy against the Boys'.

This may very well be one of those offenses that uses the pass to open up the run (rather than vice versa). And, that offensive philosophy can be very effective (see the Pats, Eagles -excluding last year- and Rams) The only way to make that approach effective is to have the weapons on the outside and with your TEs (a strong receiver out of the backfield is a plus, which we have in Barber). I think you can safely say that the weapons are in place.;)

While I agree that the run blocking was awful by the starters, I don't remember much pressure on the QB's with the starting line. Looks like the Dallas starting OL whipped the Vikings' starting OL in pass blocking, but got their arses whooped in run blocking. I wouldn't call the overall performance of the starting OL bad. If this were the regular season, Parcells would have passed all day on the Vikings.

Our starting running back had a long carry of 1 yard. He finished with 8 carries for a total of -2 yards. We be better off if all of our running plays were QB sneaks.

An interesting stat this preason - 136 pass attempts - 3 sacks. Even with Romo's ability to avoid the rush, this aspect of the OL seems much improved. Now, if we can only get the run blocking straightened out, which, I am hopeful our passing attack will loosen up those 8-9 man fronts.

Dallas RB's First Half
1st Drive ---- 3 carries -1 yard
2nd Drive ---- 3 carries -3 yards
3rd Drive ---- 2 carries 2 yards
4th Drive ---- 1 carry 1 yard

RB's Totals - 9 carries -1 yards
QB's Totals - 2 carries for 13 yards

Minnesota RB's First Half
1st Drive ---- 1 carry 0 yards
2nd Drive ---- 5 carries 13 yards
3rd Drive ---- 6 carries 9 yards

RB's Totals - 12 carries 22 yards

Minnesota did stack the line but we moved the ball. The two interceptions caused us points.
