This guy may a great locker room presence and a good mentor for Rob but he sucks on the field. He gets bull rushed at least 3 times a game and seems unable to get much of a push in the running game. How he has been to 3 straight Pro Bowls is beyond me.

I'll say it again - should have signed Wahle. Rivera is little more than an average OG and that is not good enough for an OG making $4M/year. We've got the highest pair of OGs in the league and yet have very little success running up the middle.

The OL will need revamping again in the offseason.

Packers fans said he was solid, but basically made the Pro Bowl on reputation the last couple years.

The whole Offensive Line is so inconsistent it's ridiculous. Al Johnson is a joke. I've never seen such an all around bad play by an OLineman as the hold he had on the 2nd Witten TD. He got absolutely blown up by Nick Greisen, and then decides to grab onto him and bring him down with him.

There was also a play I believe in the 1st quarter where Flozell decided to block nobody rather than the blitzing Gibril Wilson and it resulted in a sack.

There's so much $$ put into this OL, we shouldn't have to worry about them. Against Philly they look phenomenal, this week they looked like a joke.

Parcells fixed the dline, now he needs to work on that oline in this year's draft. What's sad is we already have spent some picks on it, but haven't seen much progress. Our strengths are guys like Larry and Marco who are past their prime. The oline is a disaster waiting to happen if Parcells can't find some serious depth. I'd be all for signing a big name free agent on the line next year if we can find one.

I don't think it is Marco I think it is Al Johnson.

It is not entirely Rivera - all of the interior OL have been disappointing so far in the running game.

I wouldn’t mind seeing two interior OL being taken on day one of the draft next year. LA is getting older and is very expensive. I'll give Rivera more time before I make a judgment... but he doesn’t look like a pro bowl player to me.

It is so strange to see what the OL did last week (one of the best performances by an OL unit I have seen in a long time) and then look at the game before (Raiders) and today.

Has anyone else noticed how Pettitte is described before each game by the announcers. One game he is described as a struggling rookie... the next he is described as being solid. Do the announcers just watch the previous game and make a judgment off that? He has been hot and cold. I’m not complaining, he is playing well enough for a late round rookie. I hope he can put it all together by the end of the season.

Al has had his share of problems no doubt, but Marco was pushed straight back one-on-one. He should be embarrassed to be manhandled that way by a rusher who is not an elite player.

BP has been investing in the OL but has just been missing with his FAs and draft picks.

In 3 years he has invested two 2nd rounders and a 3rd rounder to net Al Johnson, Jacob Rogers and Steven Peterman - none of whom are any good as far as I can tell. He invested money in Ryan Young and Marco Rivera who have both been disappointments.

He also didn't pursue Houck when he was available as the OL coach.

I agree about Rivera -- I think Al Johnson is average (not as bad as people make him out to be). He gets blown up a couple times a game (and everyone notices) but if you watch him, most of the time he makes solid blocks...
Now, the problem, for running, is Larry Allen -- watch him on running plays. He rarely blocks anyone and most of the time just flails and then stands above our tackled rb. The dilemma is his pass blocking is exceptional... I think the same thing about Rivera, except his pass blocking is a little worse and his run blocking is a littler better

He has been the worst FA siging this offseason, while everybdoy has succeded and been great impact he has failed in just about all aspects. Everytime i turn around he is getting a penlty, false starting , getting run over, not block worth anything, waste of money.

Was it him that let the bull rush get to Bledsoe on his INT when Glenn was wide open in the 1st qtr?
