After listening to todays press conference, I have a felling Parcells is trying to add a little something something to get Spears going against his hometown team.

Spears was a big time High School player Baton Rouge in 2 sports. I won't be surprised if he has his best game.

I would hope so cos right now only our starting FS are playing worse than this guy. And to make matters even more maddening his "partner" at the other DE spot is 3rd from the bottom in my book.

I find it coincidental, and not pertaining to the Saints.

The fact is that he hasn't played up to his pedigree as a first rounder.

And several of the Giants' better run plays yesterday came on his side of the field.

And while I understand that 3-4 ends are expected to get many sacks, Spears should have picked up a few by now, even by accident.

With the current defense, if Ware doesn't get there, nobody does. And that's way too predictable for a defense to have long-term success.

Parcells mentioned Spears because he does need to pick it up. Otherwise, he'll be sitting and Ratliff (or Coleman) will be starting.

Nice prediction thread. You've done pretty well lately, so I'm encouraged by it, even though it's irrelevant.

But it's certainly more of a limb than "Roy will hit someone."

Coicidental or not........you are 100% correct on the other stuff.

Whats up Superpunk? Lately......lately. I am always spot on:p:

I agree, it is totally irrelevant, but I can see Parcells at practice telling Spears how Deuce and Bush are going to take Spear's lunch money while his relatives and friends cheer in the stands.

From the sounds of the press conference... it sounds like Spears has some self motivation issues maybe? Like he doesn't go ALL OUT in every single game and plays with a slight lack of effort unless he's really into the game.

Hopefully this is a motivational ploy by Parcells to light a fire under Spears and get him to play harder.

Also, part of the run defense problems on Spears' side were from Bobby Carpenter.. .not Spears. Carp is still taking false steps and getting sealed off.. that happened a few times yesterday.
