Marcus Vick was unimpressive at the 'Fins first minicamp workout.

Vick reportedly looked smaller than his listed 6-0 height and threw inaccurate sidearm passes. He did line up for snaps at wideout and caught a pass. Marcus is still without a contract.

Looking bad in minicamps and training camps is not the way to go. It's going to leave a lasting impression, and if he doesn't WOW them, it'll be the final nail in the coffin.

What he should do is get as far away as possible from the NFL by playing in the CFL. Make NFL GMs forget about him for a while, putting up decent numbers in Canada and give it another shot in a couple of years.

He should also be open to a position change. Not too many teams will be willing to give a 6' QB a chance in this league, regardless of past history....good or bad.

And he should seek advice from Adrian McPhearson.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Markus Vick is not that good. I'm a Hokie alum so I've seen him play a fair amount; he's not that much better than your average mobile quarterback. Better, for sure, but not that much better. He passes a little better than his brother and runs much, much worse. He's inconsistent as well.

There goes my dream.. Washed away..
Maybe he needs some time as a 2nd-3rd string.. Play in Europe for a year..

Example: Look at Henson.

I'll have to read the Miami newspaper because on ESPN radio they reported something totally different. They said he looked better than anticipated. Strong arm and athletic. Hmmmmm

All I can say is :lmao2:

This kid doesn't deserve even the chance he is being given. At least he went to a no nonsense coach who will give him a fair chance, but doesn't owe his brother a favor. If Vick hangs on it will be through his own merit. I was surprised that it wasn't the Falcons who invited him to camp.

that was precisely my assessment of him also...better passer than his bro, much, much less a runner than his bro.
He did play well within the Va Tech system though.
I lost all respect for him when he stomped on Dumervil in the bowl game.
Ditto for Jimmy Williams when he got in a ref's face.

i think its stupid to hold the leg stomp against the guy, people get away with that junk all day long, its part of the game, he got caught.

lineman and linebackers will tell you all day about the "dirty" play in the pile.

andn the guy is not much much lesser a runner than his brother, and frankly how can you knock him for being a lesser runner than michael when every coach in the league will tell you michael's running holds him back from being a good QB.

If that was your "dream," then you are in need of a cat scan or something.

You fell in love with his name, not his play.

No..
The guy was something in VT..
He had some great games.

He was mobile, accurate, respected..
I guess he lost all that now.. :(

you can think it was stupid but the bottomline is that is was egregiously classless and long after the play was over. Then what was worse, was that he wouldn't even own up to it. He tried to say it was an accident which was obviously and blatantly false. Its not part of the game, maybe in a prison-rules game. That's silly. At a minimum, own up to it.
Add in all his baseless self-promotion, legal problems, and discipline problems and that adds up to one big headache. He's a problem. If Beamer ran him off, you know he's a huge problem.
I thought he did a good job his last season at Va Tech running the show. He couldn't win a game for them by himself but he didn't lose any for them and overall got the job done playing within himself and the system.
But...
Yes he is a much lesser runner than his brother. The point wasn't to knock him for that but to say that because he is the combination of A) a much lesser runner than his bro AND B) nothing more than a decent passer....that he is only a marginal pro prospect.

I have seen him make amazing throws that were thrown as fast as bullets between three defenders. that isn't decent thats top of the line potential and potentially he is an amazing player at the next level if he spends some time perfecting his game for his skill set.

if the kid's character was that of mother theresa he woulda been a first round pick and possibly top 5 pick.

michael vick's biggest problem is the running, and his brother is a better passer than him so again I don't see the argument at all as to why he wouldn't work out in the NFL.

and for grins name a better runner than michael vick?
I can think of one maybe two andf maybe reggie bush if he transistions to the league well.

potential wise marcus is the better QB not the better athlete but the better QB.
