Marinelli accountability

Being a DLine coach is fine.

We are talking about being the DC. He’s clearly not on the same level as Richard.

Marinelli blew up that Rams game with his stupid 4-2-5 1 gap DLine stunts, that the Rams clearly had figured out.

Fast forward to the Rams / Pats game. The Pats stacked their DL and just played 0 tech / 2Gap and they shut the Rams running game down.

So simple.
Not on the same level as Richard? Considering Richard has never even been anything more than a DB coach, can you expand on that a bit?

Richard shutout Manning in the Super Bowl.

Back to Marinelli.

He stinks .

Broheme, are you trying to defend Marinelli?!?

Seriously? Go watch the Rams game again.
I saw it. It was a bad game for the defense and Marinelli. I think Richard was there for that one too. I also think Marinelli has worked wonders with a defensive line that is always being bandaged together with JAGS and guys who are coming off 6-8 weeks or a year of suspensions.

Which brings me back to my original statement in this thread...name all the defensive linemen that have left this team under Marinelli that have done anything noteworthy or even to the same standard that they did while here. I can't think of anyone.

Looking around the league, it is. Looking specifically within our own division at the Eagles and Commanders, it is.
I see four nice role players and an unknown in the rookie. No proven high quality starter at DT.
In my mind, there are some positions where you can "get by" with average to decent players (IMO TE, CB, SLB, probably Guard if you have studs at Center & both tackle spots) and be fine. Not so with the D-line. Gotta have studs there. "Fine" there gets you knocked from the playoffs.

Ill never understand how this team treats the defensive tackle and safety positions. And before anyone mistakenly says "you can't have stars at every position!", zip it. Nobody's asking for that. We're asking for better than the inadequate stiffs that they continue to employ while passing over opportunity after opportunity to improve.

We're asking for some effort, not a monumental investment.

Dan Quinn was the DC for the Seahawks during their playoff run were the LOB waa born in 2012-2013 seasons. Kris Richards was the DBs coach.

Quinn had more to do with the defense than Richards. Dan constructed the defense with Pete Carroll and hired the foot Soldiers like Richards and Norton, Jr. To coach the positions.
