Kevin Kiley the co host of the irvin show said this afternoon he was right there on the sideline when it happened and barber was in serious pain.

he went on to speculate...speculate that he didnt think barber would be right for at least 8 weeks.

I will be sick if that is the case.

Welcome to the starting lineup Mr. Choice.

I feel fine with Choice as starter till Marion gets back. You can not start Felix....you can just see he is one of those dynamic runners who is somewhat fragile. He looked like he was hurt on few plays last night.

My big fear is that Barber will be able to play but won't be 100%. I wouldn't put it past the coaches to play Barber anyway and just hurt the team.

I hope they just sit him until he's completely well and just run Felix and Choice until then. That would be by far the best thing to do, IMO.

I'd hate to lose him, but we do have two other good backs.

On the other hand, the no sacks, no turnovers, giving up about 900 yds in two games things, that really worries me.

Me too.

Wade said he's not worried, because he still sees them being physical and playing hard.

Dam, Barber hurt again.

Looks like Choice gets the start, Felix is too fragile to start every game.

depending on what we find out it makes the end of last season and seeing what Choice was able to do even more huge for us.

imagine where we'd be and what we'd be thinking if Choice never got to play last year. we'd be screaming to pick up a back off the street or make a trade.

i hate that Barber could be out b/c especially last night he looked like the pro bowler again. but at least we know that there is a guy more than capable of handling the load while he's out.

and if Felix can do what he was doing last night then we'll be just fine.

that being said, i pray for a quick recovery for Barber b/c even though two heads are better than one, three heads kick defenses to the curb....figuratively speaking.

if its taking this long to find out then it cant be good.

That's what I was thinking. Surely the MRI results must be complete by now. If they are trying to get a second opinion then the first prognosis must've been bad news.

What a bummer if true. He was off to a tremendous start.

The way MBIII went down, you'd figure he'd have to miss a few just to save face

On the positive side, if Barber were out for a few games by the time he returnedhe would be fresh for Nov-Dec. Plus Choice/Jones will only get better imo. If we can get to 6-2 and then bring back a fresh Marion Barber and servicable backup QB now just in case, I like our chances.

I heard on the Sports Animal out of OKC that he will be out 6-8 weeks. I'll look for a link and post it.

Man i hope he doesn't miss that much. He brings much needed focus, toughness, and energy to the team with his attitude and drive.

I read on a blog that he walked pass Wade's presser or just by the media after that without a noticeable limp (although a quad wouldn't necessarily cause a limp). That doesn't sync with 6-8 weeks out.

Who knows!

AP is reporting he's day-to-day:

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips indicated Monday that Marion Barber is day to day with his strained quadriceps.

It doesn't sound like a multi-week injury at this point, but Barber seems certain to be limited in practice leading up to a Week 3 matchup against Carolina. Expect Felix Jones to be used more this week even if Barber plays.

Moral of the story: never trust an Okie.

Can someone please tell me why Felix Jones only had 7 carries last night?

They didn't even have to throw the ball much last night and could have kept the ball on the ground even more.

Barber and Felix should have been enough to win that game last night.

Up 7-3; INT TD

UP 24-20 (after a Barber 1st down); bomb pick to Sam Hurd in triple coverage.

That was the chance to knock them out and win the game. Do it with the running backs!!! You can throw it to them, too.

The pass rush and pass defense was bad. RUN THE BALL!!! You were running all over them.

Seriously. If he gets 21 carries, he probably gets over 300 yards.

Why do we even need other players?

He may have done it. They couldn't stop the run. Felix could do what Chris Johnson does for Tennessee. I just don't get it. They wanted Felix, not Johnson.

I just don't get it. Felix is one of Dallas' very best players. He's not even playing on third downs. Choice is playing.

Hello wildcard, we hope.

hey buddy, i understand how you feel, i felt angry, upset, ticked off last night too; but felix on some plays you could tell he wasnt cutting loose full speed, i think his quad is still bothering him some; or he doenst want to risk pulling it again;
