Marion Barber-RB- Cowboys Nov. 16 - 4:27 pm et

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips revealed that Marion Barber's fractured thumb led to reduced snaps in the second half of Sunday's loss.

Barber had four carries for 27 yards in the first quarter, but the thumb was giving him problems in pass protection. MB3 finished with just eight touches, although Felix Jones (three) and Tashard Choice (four) didn't emerge as major threats to his workload. Barber isn't in danger of sitting out Week 11.

why would you title this thread that when it says he won't sit out?

???

It clearly states Barber isn't in danger of sitting out week 11, and that's the title of your thread?

This isn't ESPN.com.

Notice the question mark?

Yeah, but why even imply that in the title, when the article clearly states that Barber isn't in danger of missing week 11.

Come on guys, it's Joe, cut him some slack:)

True, he always posts good material.

Which is why the title/content kind of threw me off, unless of course that was the title of the DMN article, in which case would not surprise me at all.

It's actually a good thing.

We now only have TWO RBs. So Garrett should have a problem with rotating two RB instead of not using any of the THREE.

I would never question that you screwed up. I would just tell you that you screwed up.

was just posting what i found zoners;

thing to think about, wade did say that barber was having trouble with his thumb in blocking

next if you looked at the 2nd half, barber hardly touched the ball, felix jones did

so think about it;

if barber was having trouble blocking and could only basically use one hand like wade said in his press conf, then thats why i put the ? at the end of the title of an article that i ran across

Oh, I see...thanks for posting it.

Wasn't trying to attack you, but when it said in the article that Barber was not in danger of missing week 11, the first thought was that it was like something ESPN would do to a title to attract readers.

My bad.

then when you actually go to their source it takes to you to a DMN blog

where it NEVER even mentions Barber POSSIBLY sitting out at ALL

Marion Barber's thumb gave him problems

Marion Barber had four carries for 27 yards in the first quarter and then had just one carry the rest of the game.
We'll get into Jason Garrett's playcalling later in this post, but Wade Phillips said Barber's fractured thumb was giving him problems in pass protection, which is why he was not on the field much in the second half.
That makes some sense considering the Cowboys had to throw it every play on their last two series with the score 17-0. You don't want a player unable to pick up blitzers on the field.
But it didn't hurt him running the ball and the Cowboys did not do enough of that in the first half. The Cowboys ran the ball twice in the second quarter for 3 yards on four drives. In Tony Romo's seven pass attempts he was sacked twice and had an incompletion. One drive ended with Roy Williams' fumble.
With a scoreless game, I think Garrett got a little heavy on the pass there in the second quarter.
Now in the third quarter, the Cowboys ran eight plays. By the time they got the ball in the fourth quarter - 13:14 left in the game - the Packers had a 10-0 lead. The Cowboys went shotgun three straight times and it ended with Charles Woodson's sack/fumble.
Could they have run it there more? Sure. After that, however, the running game had to go out the window with a 17-0 deficit.

thats some mighty fine reporting there rotoworld

anyway that was fun, kind of like the old game you used to play where you would whisper something around the room and see how messed up it was by the time it got back around to you.

yep, thats where i got it, then i posted in another post on this site the dmn blog about barber; if you notice they said that wade mentioned barber had trouble blocking with one hand (wade mentioned this in his press conf today)

and if u read more you saw barber only ran once in 2nd half, so why?

maybe his thumb like wade mentioned was bothering him more in this game, then before;

so if his thumb bothered him, will he be ready for the Commanders

if you remember on one blitz, that barber blocked, barber wasnt his usual self and the blitzer went right around barber for a big play

so think about it, maybe barber might not be ready for week 11
