The only guy I've heard knock Felix Jones is Todd McShay. He said Jones just outran everyone to the corner in college and he won't be able to do that in the NFL. From what I've seen of Jones, I think McShay is wrong.

Precisely!

That is what seperates Felix from Julius. Felix has terrific vision, run instincts and balance to go with outstanding athleticism.

Julius only had good athletic ability... and that was still well below what Felix has. Add the intangibles and they aren't even close.

Plus, Julius couldn't catch a cold and Felix is a heck of a receiver.

Huge upgrade for us there.

Does anyone know why or have any intellegent reason for them to take Felix Jones over number 10 ranked Rashard Mendenhall? I do not know much about them but it seems to me like if they wanted a RB why Jones?
Sure Jones will probably be good but Mendenhall should be better?
I know that both would be a good compliment to Marion Barber.

Yeah, I was posting on that on another board at the time (when this one was overloaded)... I though Mayock was going to orgasm talking about Felix. Which really surprised me, because I expected him to slam us for passing on his best back in the draft.

Look up the word compliment, Jones is a great compliment to Barber, Mendenhall is not a compliment at all, he would only be of use with barber on the bench

Mendenhall is not a good compliment to Barber. He is a very similar back. He would only be on the field when Barber wasn't.

They felt they could do more with Felix, do more with both backs on the field at the same time.

That's the rationale. With no other backs on the roster I probably would have taken Mendenhall too, but I understand where they are going, and I really do think people are going to be in love with Felix this time next year.
