Yep, of course. But at the same time, Faulk's reasoning was totally kind of idoitic. Excusing Giants losses at good losses due to the competition, while Cowboys losses were against Undefeated teams not quality losses?

And third, Giants only win against quality opponent is Cowboys, and that too based off 5 turnovers, if not, I don't think Giants had much of chance in that game.

But then also they were doing point and counterpoint thing, so good argument against Cowboys. I would think if I was Marshal, I would go with Eagles rather than Giants as favorite to win East for now.

Irvin was saying that the Cowboys are the best team in the NFC East now, keyword is now, because the Cowboys finally found a #1 receiver in Austin and the offense is at the top of the league in every statistical category. He said that even though the Cowboys turned the ball over 5 times against the Giants, it still took the Giants a last second field goal to win, but the Cowboys have gotten better since then.

Marshall's argument: "The Giants lost to two quality teams in the Saints and the Cardinals, so that's why they are better than the Cowboys...."

That's true, much of the league is based on exactly that though. (witness the weekly "power rankings"...)

Irvin can't throw out the mistakes the Cowboys made vs the giants and say the better team lost, because they lost. It was close and Romo was bad and kept them in it yeah but - they won.
Next time, it will be a different story.

But you can look at the reasons the Cowboys lost in that game and say that the Cowboys have advanced significantly in that area and then argue that they may be the better team now.

At least that argument is rooted in some form of logic.

Personally, I do think the Cowboys are better and if Romo wasn't playing differently those games for some bizarre reason I think the Cowboys would be undefeated. I also see them suddenly as media darlings again and "America's offense is back." being forgotten should they falter somewhere down the road. I believe in their ability and if they continue to slowly improve and peak at the right time they could go all the way.
