How ridiculous is it to use the reasoning "well this team lost to that team so they're better." I didn't realize that losing makes you better. That's grasping at straws.

As Emmitt would say, "Facts is facts" The Giants defensive secondary is a sieve. The loss of Phillips had more of an impact than anyone anticipated. They are a run oriented team that can't keep up with what other teams are hanging on them. They are in trouble.
