Im guessing we wont hear fans advocate for a hometown discount like they did for other players we've had some contract issues with

Would have been better to get it done now. Kicking the can down the road will only raise the cost of the contract. They should have worked harder to get this done...NOW.

The only people worried about it are fans letting their fears take over,,,
I doubt there are any hard feelings between the negotiators, they're just letting business run its course.

I have little doubt we lock him up long term. This is why we stay out of free agency bidding madness, to retain our own.

I never understood waiting until the off-season to negotiate....... how hard is it to have your agent bring you offers every now and then

Football isn't that taxing that this would be a distraction...... college kids are expected to carry a full course load

Well this is annoying. And I knew it would be the minute Zack said “I let my agent handle all of that”. That’s what agents are for, and I don’t begrudge any player seeking his worth, but it was a tone different than Fred and Ty and I could read the tea leaves.

This year and two franchise tags if needed. He's here through 2019 no matter what.

No worries.
