Marty B's lack of a productive season...and the breakout performance of Phillips-----really shows that Marty B is NOW expendable... Marty B's had the opportunity..... but did not make the best of it.....his lack of performance made way for Phillips to step and show his trustworthiness to the team....Phillips has earned Romo's and the coaches trust in both blocking and catching......somthing Mary B still lacks......Saelavee Marty B....

Yall are crazy - give him some more time and he will be the beast that he needs to be - once he gets it right he will be unstoppable - rather have him on our side as a duo with witten when he gets to that point. obviously Jerry sees something in him as well if he was already willing to pass up a first roudner for him, uproven.

I doubt if that's gonna happen. one game does not a career make. although I like phillips.

and if that's the case, I am mad because Cinci offered a first rounder for bennett.

so just what has Bennett accomplished after 14 games....his highlight of the year was Cincy offering a so called 1st rounder for him....


what has he done....how has he helped out the team...NOT worth salt at this point....Phillips done more in one game than Bennett did all year...Romo and the coaches obviously trust him to make the right descions....something Bennett sorely lacks.......

I don't wanna get rid of Bennett cause we'll get rid of him and he'll blossom into a great tight end. I wanna keep him here I think he'll produce next season. John Phillips is a great #3 TE, anyone catch that huge block he made on the weakside in the first half? wow... not to mention he can catch and has some wiggle. I like him and he will be great.

Phillips just straight up made plays and he seems to understand the game (not running out of bounds). Marty B is a complete meathead. Jerry just has a real hard time giving up on his guys (Folk, Roy, etc.)

I think people need to remember that defenses pay attention to Bennett when he's in there because he showed last year he's more than capable of making plays. The Saints I am sure didn't spend any time at all worrying about Phillips this week cause they hadn't ever seen him do anything. Now that he showed tonight that he's got some ability I doubt other teams will totally over look him the way the Saints did.
