2% milk? you mean 98% water.:laugh2:

"Real" milk is only 3 percent

it's just a reference to the milk fat content.

Dark meat is a greasy mess, white meat is really easy to cook, you just cook it a little less time.

What is hard to do is to cook a whole chicken without drying out the breast meat, it should be done long before the rest of the bird.

That's why I don't like cooking a whole bird at once, unless its on the smoker, it comes out so juicy on the smoker.

MAN, screw you guys I am friggin starving because of Marty B and this thread.

And don't get me started on Okra, food of the gods right there.

Whole milk has 3.7% fat by weight. But that's deceiving as the calorie count and fat grams is dramatically increased with whole milk. One serving of whole milk has 9 fat grams. Skim milk has 86 calories and .4 gms of fat.

Big deal.

I still drink it as skim milk tastes like crap to me.

1 glass of real milk a day isn't going to hurt you, that was more my point.

and some of the organic milks have even higher fat ratings and calorie content than some other "whole" milks.

How and what they feed the cows is likely more important than the percentage on the label.

It is actually 3.9 but it makes a big differance from that tasteless watery 2%. But this is a conversation at a different site

I have drank 2% for so long that whole milk is like chugging a glass of glue.

Not all 2 percent milks taste like water either, some of them are down right delicious.

Great now I am thirsty too.

I can drink 2% and even 1%. Skim milk is another story altogether. I can't gag that down. I swear, you can see through it at the edges.

I grew up on a ranch and we drank fresh milk with cream chunks in it. I have no problem with whole milk.

how many 2 percents have you tried?

At whole foods they have some organic brands that really are great.

When do we have an okra feast? Pickled, fried, and boiled (not my favorite).

you don't need to get defensive about your milk choices, I was just trying to explain I felt the exact same way you do, until I tried about 10 different brands and found a couple worth drinking.

I still prefer whole, but can live with the others.

I hate when people tell me how good restaurants are that I never heard of or have near me.

You now have to mail me some bojangles chicken.
