No, it was a fan on Twitter who said Johnson announced on Instagram that he had a broken bone in his ankle, and a lot of people assumed it was a new injury.

However, Johnson actually was referring to the injury we already knew about. He called it the "Navicular bone in my ankle," which is the same Navicular bone that had been reported earlier (it's on the top of the foot, near the ankle). He wasn't reporting anything new, he just called the same bone part of his ankle instead of his foot.

His Instagram actually post was more about telling everyone how disappointed he is -- "It's very disappointing not being able to play this year. I am very happy and fortunate to still be a Cowboy and can't wait to get healthy and give my all for cowboyszone. Thanks for all your support in a difficult time."

So, yes, he is hurt and will waste the season on IR. But he did not, as some people believed, suddenly break his ankle after already hurting his foot.

Before he got injured, in very limited time, he was all around the ball. This guy was a good draft pick. The only reason he won't live up to the potential scouts thought he had is because he's constantly injured.

But the guy is a player.

It is not new... he had a stress reaction which is a precurser to a stress fracture. The bone just finally broke.

Yes, but technically, it still fell under speculation. What I was looking for was info from the actual Instagram post. But I will give you credit for speculating correctly.
