Free agent Matt Jones claims he's spoken to the Bears, Cowboys, Jets, and Titans about signing a contract.

The only poor (and highly unlikely) fit here is Tennessee. Surprisingly, it also appears Jones is not on the Ravens' radar. "Things are looking good," Jones said. "Something probably will happen sooner rather than later."

Unless the teams want it out there to test the winds. If its negative among fans the teams can claim they have no interest.

It could be that there is not much interest in him at all and this is just a ploy to create some additional interest.I guess deperate times require desperate measures when you're unemployed and unable to afford a certain lifestyle.

I'm not sure there are too many owners/GMs out there who conduct unofficial fan polls to determine who to sign and who not to sign.

I actually heard an interview he did with Pat Kirwin on Sirius NFL Radio yesterday.

Kirwin seemed to share my opinion of him, that somebody would be getting a young, talented athlete who's just really learning to play receiver (he's working with Rickey Proehl) and who's matured and is looking to restart his career.

He'll be somewhere this season.

Most teams have injury "short lists" right now. I can guarantee you he's on someone's and might even be on our's.

Depends who else has been injured in the league at that point.

I don't think Matt Jones gets signed until somebody gets hurt. He's not a guy too many coaches would want to depend on, so I think he only gets signed in a bad situation like an injury.
