The Pick: WR Corey Davis, Western Michigan

After adding Ezekiel Elliott, Jaylon Smith and Maliek Collins, the Dallas Cowboys should be feeling good about the future of the roster. The biggest unaddressed position, though, comes at wide receiver, whereDez Bryant desperately needs a running mate.

Corey Davis was the guy you noticed every time Western Michigan played. While breaking down 2016 draftee Daniel Braverman, it was Davis who kept flashing as a playmaker. He's agile and fast, and has the hands to make plays in space and over the top. With so many talented targets in place, Davis would see single coverage on everyplay, and he has the talent to take advantage and turn catches into points with the ball.

Next year's draft is supposedly very strong on edge rushers. I think we still need a premium edge rusher. Somebody who is smart and can be trusted, unlike most of the guys currently on the roster.

Sadly, the QB position is pretty much a writeoff. While the backup position may be fixed, Romo's replacement is nowhere in sight.

Next year could be a very rich QB draft. There just might be a replacement in sight.

You have no idea if it will be or not. Just depends on what underclassmen make their move. If Watson and Kaaya and Mason come out, it could be a pretty strong QB draft.

Like Ron Jaworski or not, but he said that he talked to several scouts are were unanimous....over the next 2 drafts, there may be 3 QB's that will warrant a 1st round grade. And the way QB's rise up the boards, they will be right at the top like they always are. So the Cowboys will need a 2-4 win season to get one of them. Or they can sell the farm like the Rams/Eagles did.

Of course things can change. They always do. But based on what I've been hearing, it doesn't look good. We'll see.

I heard one of the guys saying on the NFL Network that the next draft class could be loaded at QB depending on the guys who come out and perform this year such as the names I said above, also Kizer from ND, etc.

You have to remember, Jaws is also an Eagles mouthpiece. The Eagles and their GM have been using the excuse the reason they jumped up to take a QB who rocketed up the draft boards is because they surveyed the landscape the next couple of drafts and saw no QBs worth taking then. Suddenly Jaws is now saying the same thing? Color me a bit surprised. LOL.

Wentz just went 2nd in the draft. No chance he was projected as a1sdt rounder at this time last year.

It's very hard to predict. Even then, this mock has QBs going early. On paper, several of these guys could end up good, not to mention the eventual surprises not mentioned.

As always, time will tell one way or the other.

Dallas will have to give up several top picks over a couple years time to have s chance at a top QB. That is why I supported trading up this year while it was less expensive to trade. I can see them using Dsk as an excuse not to draft a QB for another few years. That was another reason that I wanted to get a top QB this draft. I tend to agree with Jerry on tearing up for Lynch. He should have paid the price and traded up for him. From the looks of things , Lynch is the last decent QB prospect that was available for the next couple of seasons. College offenses prevent many good QBs from ever developing.
