What I was thinking while watching the team compete for the 1st overall pick in this draft was we really needed to go out and sign a guy with no other options around the league to really fix this mess should Romo go down again.

And maybe groom a Quincy Carter clone.

It's a tad scary when you think about it -- we've got a GM who'd be thinking that even if Romo were in hospice with an inoperable brain tumor, he'd likely be good for at least another year.

That's entirely possible and even then, there's some room for doubt. Jerry seems pretty much in a win-now mode.

I can see it now, we rolling with Floaty's man crush, and a 4th round pick

The silver lining could be it drops him a round or two in the draft and he becomes an option for the 4th round instead of the 3rd. I think the Cowboy coaching staff knows him very well from the Senior Bowl, if this is an isolated incident it shouldn't dramatically affect his position on the Cowboys draft board.

For the guys on this board who live in MS, how hard is it to get a DUI in Starkville? Do you have to be knee-walking drunk or could this be a My Cousin Vinny thing?

Yup instead of the 3rd, now we can get him with one of our 4th round picks.
