Matt Scott is a developmental type QB that is rising up the charts very quickly. I can see him sitting behind Romo for a couple of years and then being ready. What do you guys think?

A very raw, athletic smaller version of Kaepernick. He's got an interesting skillset, but needs to learn how to operate under center vs. shotgun.

A guy I would consider after the 4th round.

Now that we've extended Romo, I'd wait until next year or the year after to spend a mid-round pick on a guy. Two years from now, we should be actively trying to solve that problem. If we do it before, it's because we think we can train and trade somebody.

Any draft pick above a 6th rounder used on a QB at this stage is a waste. Maybe a 5th...

as a Tucson native it's really strange to think of not one but two Wildcat QBs in the NFL

Lacking in accuracy and decision making, the two most important categories. I dont see the Kaep comparisons. His accuracy is what makes him so good.

Why draft any QB now? Jerry has already given us the 108 million dollar man for the next 7 years. no need to wast a pick on a QB now. Romo is it for you guys the next 5 to 7 years. GOOD LUCK THAT!

5 to 7 years? I Highlight doubt that.

The Cowboys need a mid round QB in this draft

I like Scott. I'm not anti taking a QB, just not sure I see the upside at this point in doing so.

EJ Manuel completes 60% and isnt accurate on mid range throws either. Pass completion numbers can be skewed by short and underneith throws.

It's too bad he isn't projected to go much lower, cause I would love to draft him as a developmental guy while having him run the scout team to help us prepare for all the mobile QBs out there. A 3rd or 4th is too high considering our needs.

Neither the Cowboys nor any other team ever needs a quarterback in the middle rounds.

Romo's contract is really a three year contract.

Don't be shocked if we take someone in the mid rounds either this year or next year to get a few years to learn the system.

Yeah because the Cowboys have such a good backup for Romo if he gets injured

I like this kid. He's a lot like Romo at Eastern Illinios. His mechanics need work but what's new? All of these guys who are developmental types need work one or more areas. I do like him a lot. I don't think he's worth a 3rd round pick, which is where a lot of people see him but I do think that if he's there in say the 5th or so, I would take him. You look at his numbers and he is fast and quick. He has a lot of elusive qualities to his game. I think he can be a real good developmental QB and what would be good about this guy is that he fits our offense.

He needs to get bigger and improve obviously but I think he would be a nice developmental guy.

I agree with everything you said. And Scott has put on 15 pounds since the end of the season. He now stands at 6 Ft 3 215 Lbs. That is damn impressive
