Truth is that Nico Harrison was on thin ice over at Nike after botching a presentation to Steph Curry to re-sign him, which led Curry to sign with Under Armour and Nico was looking for an exit. He had zero NBA front office experience and the main reason (admittedly) Cuban hired him was due to his connections with players.

Jalen was always gonna be with his dad and the Knicks. Eveyone knew it. They did not want him buried in Dallas behind Luka.

He wasn’t going to be buried behind Luka, he would have started next to Luka, but he would not have reached his full potential. He made the right choice for himself.

"Always" except for the part where Jalen and his father approached Nico and the Mavs front office twice before the summer of 2022 looking to sign an extension and where turned away both times, you mean?

Nico was probably pushing the narrative to him of paying Luka that much didn't make sense because he wouldn't be worth it in the end.

I’m not buying the rigging theory either. Even if Silver wanted to, how would he pull it off in front of all those teams with reps ensuring it’s a fair process. Plus, even after the trade, Dallas was a long shot to be in the lottery.

why would he start next to Luka? They liked him coming off the bench and spelling Luka and playing alongside him but his pops knew his potential. I admittedly didn’t.

Naw I’m just holding people accountable. There was. Conspiracy to make Mavs worse so they can go to Vegas….I’m just laughing between the conspiracies, Lakers winning one more game then we did with Luka…it’s been a funny last couple of weeks. :laugh:
