Maybe Dallas could get Thomas?

I hear ya, but
Doesn't it depend on the cost?
Not really. There's a level of stupid on this board that will be upset that someone else offered a 1st and that we didn't offer two 1sts.

Another day at the Zone.

Who is this GM saying this?
I dismiss anything that has an unidentified source.

People cry about the cap space we have but want to give up a pick for a $10 million dollar safety who wants a bigger contract when this one is up...

do we have a different source.
based on some of the crap in his twitter feed...this sounds like fake news.

if they get Thomas great.....if not...oh-well.

not gonna get excited about fake news.

If Thomas goes elsewhere I will lose it
he will, prepare to lose it. it'll be announced hes going to Giants or something and we'll counter with announcing the signing of nolan carrol again. its starting to feel like last year all over again.

Dallas needs to figure it out.

Witten making 6 million dollars.

Dez making 16 million dollars.

Meanwhile the Eagles trading for Michael Bennett when they are well over the cap.

They need to acquire better talent and if Earl Thomas is available they should figure it out.

Don't give us the we like our guys BS. Nothing against Heath or Xavier Woods but if Earl Thomas is available you go get him.

MR SCARY CLOWN-- i totally 100% agree...if we dont get Thomas and he goes somewhere else...i will have lost all confidence in FO making any free agent pick-ups to help the team...their overly conservative approach is hurting cowboys...the ones they get they end up cutting or player retires because of injury and we are paying more and more dead money...Thomas is 28 and at his peak for a couple three more years...we desperately need a safety of his talent..so why not just get him?..cause its the cowboys...only so much a fan can take

We won't get Thomas.
mr E--- i inderstand the depth of your frustration...it would be great ...filling a deep need...the player is right in front of us...and we wont pull trigger

I hear ya......I just don't think we have anybody that can mmake a legit trade.....I honestly have zero faith in our FO.
mr ron--- i am in same boat...i have lost all confidence anymore in dallas filling deep needed holes in free agency....look at philly from last to super bowl champs all based on picking up free agents to solidify depth chart...and when 4 stars went down...they had the talent to not skip a beat...why cant we learn?..its this dumb stiff-necked view that free agency is bad...when if used properly can turn a whole organization around quickly

Not going to get upset if we don't get him because I don't think we will. Would love to be wrong.
mr Paint-- you said...i dont think we will....there is a reason none of us have any confidence in FO will pull trigger..but Philly showed the league as new england has every year that free agency is great if used right...Earl Thomas is right there for the taking and it would make our backfield elite instantaneously...but the cowboys have done so poorly in free agency they no longer have any guts.....but just going the way of the draft is not enough in how the league has changed...come on cowboy FO get some courage already

I want to believe it's possible, but I just can't bring myself to do it.....
mr Phil---there is a reason none of us have any confidence dallas FO will pull the trigger on a desperately needed player at that postion...its our stubbornness that we can build only through the draft and pick up bottom of barrell free agents that we end up cutting or they retire because of injury....Thomas would instantaneously make our backfield elite
pick up a pass rushing 1-tech and our D is elite....but since it makes too much sense..we wont do it...so frustrating

What if, big if, but what if they're working on a Dez for Earl Thomas trade? Both players are 29, their contracts would need restructuring by the new team. Seahawks best WR is Doug Baldwin, so Dez would immediately upgrade their unit. He gets a new deal and chance to play with Russell Wilson ( Romo clone). Of course, Thomas gets to come home as he wishes and immediately becomes a team leader. He agrees to sign a team friendly new 3-year deal. We KNOW Kris Richard is likely pushing Thomas envelope as much as possible. There would probably a couple draft picks involved but outside looking in, it seems reasonable for both teams.

Of course, this takes a lot of work to pull off which could be why we haven't heard anything. Long shot but ..........
