Maybe the Boys are so good, they don't care about proving anything in meaningless preseason scrimmages.

Their roster is stacked and the only thing in their way of marching through the season is injuries. So they are just in cruise control.

What if the Cowboys come out and pound Cleveland? then all these gloomers are going to be confused beyond repair.

That would be nice:)

You mean trying things instead of game planning?

Shock and awe!

Of course, our first loss this year will be because we saw what we had in pre-season.

I agree that we arent going all out but if you play football trying not to get hurt than your going to get hurt because somebody else is always going full speed.

No question.

I think there should be a group av for the ones jumping off of buildings this morning because:

1. The defense isn't as good as the 2000 Ravens D.

2. Cutler played well last night and the Romo did not play quite as well.

3. The defense was plain-jane.

4. The Cowboys are getting hosed by the refs... because they are the Cowboys.

5. Training camp is "soft".

6. The Cowboys lost another preseason game.

And when Mendenhall has his first 100 yrd game and Felix only has 98 yards it will be because Jerry's in charge again and we will never win the Super Bowl again as long as he owns the team.

Actually Felix was Garrets pick. Jerry just made the decision after listening to Garret.

But they haven't won jack. Last year ended in disaster. Outsiders who have watched "Hard Knocks" have been amazed by the loosey-goosey atmosphere and sense of entitlement that permeates the franchise. The problem is the internal culture of the team, and that is reflected by a cavalier approach to "meaningless" games. I don't care that they lost Denver, but I'd like to see a little more effort. Why else would Greg Ellis be scolding his mates?

Which wouldn't prove we're "great" any more than the pre-season games prove we're "bad." A little intellectual consistency, please.

I liked it better when the preseason games weren't on TV and covered by the networks like the playoffs. They truely are meaningless. Us fans love football so much that we want them to be more than they are. The only value is to get glimpses of the young guys and watch some of the backend position battles. So far are biggest worries are about the 3rd string TE, the 3rd/4th WR and the 5th corner. Preseason football sucks and the fans should stop filling the stands and watching on TV.

mosely has been in all 4 nfc east camps. He said the giants did more goofing off and going through the motions. he said all the camps were the same. the eagles do more live hitting, but the camps are about the same from a workload aspect.

I have concerns involving attitude also. I cant stand to see guys joking around on the sideline, the backups are out there trying to earn a spot so they can play in this league and earn a living. I think it is disrespecftul for guys to be goofing around on the sideline during this.

The penalties are concerning to me also, especially since just like the last couple of years they keep coming on 3rd downs.

I think it is hard to judge a football team on preseason though. there are alot of guys on this roster being evaluated situationally and we dont have the info to know who or what that is. Most players are not being put in a situation to succeed. there is no premeditated course of action to attack the other teams weakness.

When you put these guys out there in a one on one setting which is essentially what was happening last night there will appear to be holes and leaks.

I dont think anyone should be over concerned with last night anymore than if the team won 23-10 they should be excited. Its just preseason.

These games are determined by backups. With all the money locked up in starters, and little left for the backups, it stands to reason that we'll lose most pre-season games. No biggie. But Ellis' little rant validated the naysayers, or that something was "amiss." We know we have the physical talent to win 12+ games; I'm more worried about the mental makeup of the team.

Intellectual consistency? When you say "we" as if you're on the payroll or something, and then add in "Outsiders". I'm beginning to think your a player in disguise. That's in the same realm as the dreaded "Sources say".

Bill Parcells ran as tight a ship as there was in the NFL. Where did that get the Cowboys in December? Did you burn your Cowboy flag at the end of the first quarter to?

If you can watch a couple edited Hard Knocks episodes and decide there's a internal culture problem on the team, by goddness , you are an NFL insider.

ellis little talk I think was because the team was un enthused. then after the james penalty I think they were un-enthused and frustrated. It was kind of like look we have to go back out there and stop them just to shake this off, we have to play this game so we had better be more focused. And oh by the way they got stops in the next two series, and really they had a stop on that second series.

much like the packers game last year, the third down penalties led to continued drives which then resulted in TD's. that is a concern we should all have, preseason or not.

I think alot of that was fatigue and the guys just wanting to get out of there. they had better be focused friday night because houston has two capable qb's who will throw it down the field and also have a strong running game.

I mean you can worry about the mental makeup of the team, there is small concern there I dont doubt that one bit. Its just, for me its hard to tell in that situation, I really didnt see anything last night that would make me say oh no here we go. I didnt see the goofing off on the sideline or the celebrating and taunting that you find in that scenario. It also has to be hard to go out and play when you have a crutch of not doing anything but sitting back and being reactive on defense.

had james not been flagged for a silly penalty that is the end of that drive and we end up with great field position. I just think it is really hard to determine anything about the team at this point.

You mean a lack of execution and mindless penalties?

If we do these things against Cleveland we will most certainly lose.

There is one thing to dismissing a poor effort and using the exhibition rationalization when you actually show any degree of sharpness, like we did last week. We did not look even close to that this week.

But when you try to excuse everything because the game is meaningless, you are venturing into delusion. Undisciplined and disorganized play is what it is, regardless if anyone is keeping score or who you are playing against.

Are you sure? Some of you are acting like we lost an important game that would make or break our season. It was just a preseason game, let it go.

Well, I'm biased and so are you, hence the reliance on "outsiders" for an objective opinion. And I'm hardly the only fan who uses the "we" pronoun.

If what you're posting is true (thankly I don't buy it one bit) then we're in real troulble!!!!. Last year showed you can't turn it on when you want to. If the team does have this type of attitude we're in for another let down in January. I don't think it's true and I don't think we're in for a let down. Bad theory on your part, IMO.
