Maybe not in a week. Maybe not in a month. But soon, long after this pain goes away, every single Cowboys fan should be happy with this season. Not it's end, but it's entirety.

We were going to top off at 7 wins.

We had an overhyped, interceptions-heavy gunslinger.

We had no "top" reciever, and our defense simply wasn't as dangerous.

We were boys in a division of men. 4th out of 4 was the safe pick, but we'd finish 5th out of 4 if it were possible.

But, alas, that's why they play the game. 11 wins, good enough for the division title.

We played the dreaded Eagles in a "big-time" game on the last week of the season, and we spanked them for the division.

We faced them in a rematch, getting ready for our "***** to be stung". And we spanked them. We didn't just beat the eagles once this year. We didn't beat them twice. We beat them 3 times. Three. 44-6 is officially in the past.

Going into next year, the question won't be "Can Romo win a playoff game", it will be "Can Romo win THE big game?". And guess what, we'll get a chance to find out soon enough.

Miles is a top-10 reciever in the game of football, and that's being safe.

We have a 3-headed rushing attack that will scare any defense.

Our defense will be top-5 next year, with a few missing pieces fixed.

And, most importantly, Tony Romo has taken control of this team. This is Tony's team, in Tony's town, doing it the way Tony wants to.

Maybe today we won't realize what a good season this was. Maybe not tomorrow. But this was a good year. It wasn't special, and I won't be telling my grandson's about it in 30 years. But this was a good year. I want to thank the Cowboys for making it a great year. They deserve that.

Is it August yet?

Hmm, I guess only "sky is falling" posts warrant a response. Good to know.

I'm dissapointed with how it ended but it wasn't a bad season. We took a major step forward this year getting those playoff and December monkeys off our backs. Hopefully we can take that final step next season.

A SB in our own home would be sweet. :D

I will accept this season, but I wont be happy. Another wasted year with our star QB.

If this were still 2007 my feelings would be different.

But seriously, it was a good season. Felix has shown he can be a pretty dependable back, and the defense is getting better. Great thing is the defense is really young too.

We found a good WR is miles, but now we need to make a decision with roy. Personally i would get rid of him, but he got that extension so i doubt he's going anywhere.

What we need badly is some talented youth on the o-line. Free showed he can be a starter, but we still need some more youth up there. Hopefully brewster can become a player next year.

We also need a playmaking safety out there. Taylor Mays is going to be in the draft, but i don't know if we will be able to get him though.

Negative nancy represent! You have to get over the fact that winning championships isn't a ******** birthright. Like the Cowboys are doing you an injustice, god forbid they don't win the Super Bowl! A "normal" fan would accept this loss and realize that, while it's painful, this season was a step in the right direction. You, on the other hand...

Pretty proud of our football team. I think more than any other season in recent history, they came together and improved every week. Days like today...can't help but feel as though fate steps in and it just isn't your day. Play this game 2 days in a row and I guarantee you get a different game.
If someone asked me if I thought Dallas had the heart to go 5-2 in our division with 3 wins against the eagles, I'd have said no. Love my team, love this game. Go COWBOYS!

We definitely did some good things this year. There was some discovery in ourselves as well as growth in the right direction. If the concept of team and locker room chemistry this year didn't convince jerry that this is the blueprint for future seasons I don't know what will.

I'm proud of winning the division when most thought we were garbage at the beginning of the year. I'm proud of the improvements that certain players made. We're young and have opportunities to improve or add depth to some areas. I just hope that it is taken advantage of during this window of opportunity.

We had a good season but there was no way we should have been destroyed 34-3.

I wish people would quit with the "Well, weren't suppose to make the Playoffs so we overachieved".

Ridiculous.

You have to change your predictions about the team on a Week By Week basis as teams play different and catch fire throughout the Season.

We were a very hot team going into the Playoffs and we should have at least been competitive in the Divisional Game.

Again, I am not calling anyone out or turning on the team, but I will not look back on this Season fondly because of how it ended.

Better way of putting it. I agree with you.

My thoughts exactly. We took a giant step backwards last year but only a small step forward this year. This team has the talent to win it all. They need a coach to get them there!!!

People need to realize that the mediocre predictions for this year were based on our pitiful season last year.

I'm already happy.

Making and winning a playoff game was the minimum that I wanted out of this season. Yes, I would have PREFERRED a trip to the Super Bowl and a win, but, I'm ok with how this team did.

Guys stayed healthier. Romo (despite this game) did a better job of protecting the ball and just not making too many stupid mistakes. Dallas is 3 deep at RB and TE. Dallas has a legit #1 WR in Miles Austin now. Doug Free has proven he can be a starter. Anthony Spencer will only get better. Mike Jenkins is turning into the CB we'd hoped he would. Scandrick has struggled but still developing well IMO.

There's a lot of guys that will be back. There's a lot to build on for next year. There are weaknesses that can be improved on. This team can be stronger next year.

The last thing I wanna do is argue with fellow fans. But my expectations were lower for this season because we had such a tremendous amount of turnover.

On defense, we lost 5 starters:
Canty
Henry
Thomas
Williams
Ellis

Say what you want about them, they started for our defense and we almost made the playoffs.

On offense, I was happy, but nervous to lose Owens.

Additionally, look at our draft. No first round pick, and certainly nobody we expected to start. We drafted alot of players so they could make an immediate impact on special teams.

I was calling for Spencer's head after those runs at the end of the Ravens game. I dunno. Even the preseason rankings from all of the media had us ranked 3rd in the division. At the beginning of the season, we weren't playing good football, and down the stretch, I saw flashes of really great football. In that sense, I don't know how anyone could be disappointed with our football team this year.
