First, maybe why TO's contract is not signed yet. But verbally agreed upon is that Jerry Jones is still in Mexico St Barts I think. And the Cowboys wont make it official till Jerry Jones comes back Monday.

That's what I was thinking. We all know how Jerry likes the spot light.

One question that I have is, if this is true, who wanted him, BP, JJ, or both. If Jones did and BP didn't, which I can't see that happening, then this could be a major rift between JJ and BP.

Odd thing is, if it is indeed a 3 year contract, does Parcells believe that he will be here the said 3 years to handle TO, or is there a way out for the Cowboys upon his departure?

I think the 3 year deal says that TO wants to have a shot at another big contract before his career is over - if he fits here he'll get it - if he's a problem here he'll be looking at finishing his career in Oakland with the rest of the league's outcasts

If Parcells was sighted eating with TO's agent I am sure BP has signed off on this. He is only coaching 1 or 2 more years at most and TO will be on best behavior this year so why not go out and get the best WR (regardless of what people say his talent is unparalleled) and go fo it.

Danny boy you want to buy a team.... we just bought a WR and will accomplish more. Maybe you should invest in your "D" like the Giants...

Speaking of that luncheon. I think that is where BP "put his foot down" to TO even though it was through his agent. Probably told Drew his expectations of TO if he were to join the team.

That is funny :laugh1:

Also, if TO does in fact sign you can bet he will be on his best behavior for at least a year. If he is not he will complain himself out of the NFL.

There are a few other reason why the contract hasn't been offically signed.

1) Jerry Jones has gotten a bit squeamish about opening a vein in order to get the "ink" to sign it.
2) It's proving more difficult than expected to fit Dallas area pigs with those wings
3) Dallas officials are balking at the proposed variance required to erect the gateway to hades beside the new brimstone chasm which spontaneously appeared outside of Valley Ranch.
4) Drew Bledsoe's bulk shipment of Duct tape was delayed.
5) Drew Rosenhaus hasn't been able to stop laughing long enough to properly grip his pen.
6) Behind closed doors, T.O. is still busy lovin him some him.

JJ and BP are giving TO and Rosenhouse the time to check around and be certain that no other team is going to touch him with a ten foot pole and certainly not give him a bigger contract. that way he does not come in feeling disgruntled and that if he had gone on the open market he could have got more money.

i also think it will NOT be a heavily incentive laden contract with a small base rather it will be a very sizable contract close to his abilities (though only 2-3 years) and will have some escalators which if he reaches he will be the highest pain WR in the NFL.

believe me, i know what will happen (see my sig) :worthy2:

just my 02 cents.

Thats not a bad strategy. If he does the right thing for 3 years then an option to give him another contract would be a good... well.... OPTION

You guys need a geography class. St. Barts is in the Carribean.

St. Barths, St. Barts, also known as St. Barth, St. Barths and St. Barthélemy, is located in the French West Indies and, at eight miles long, is one of the tiniest islands in the entire Caribbean.
