Maybe Romo can be fully appreciated now

Hopefully, all of those who believed that Romo was part of the problem with Dallas not getting over the hump year after year can now see that he was not.

Yes, he had his moments where he failed and his bad games, but that's what happens when quarterbacks are constantly put into a position where they can't make any mistakes.

If Aaron Rodgers had been our quarterback Sunday, I guarantee that all we would be talking about is how his overthrow on the two-point attempt had cost us the game. That's life for a quarterback in Dallas, especially under Garrett. This team failed Romo over and over again and messed up what should have been a Hall-of-Fame career. Now, it's doing the same to Dak, who has played well enough for the team to be 4-1 right now if the defense was any good.

Over and over again, we've seen our quarterbacks make some fantastic plays to give this team a chance and over and over again, it hasn't been enough because this front office has failed them over and over again.

Yeah, some blamed Romo here.

But I think for many it's was a case of simply not being able to put all the pieces together at one time in order to create something special.

Winning constantly in the NFL and making deep runs into the playoffs year after year is incredibly difficult.

Meanwhile, some of our fans think Tony's in that comfy TV booth hoping for a chance to come back and do it again.

Does Romo play defense? Dak played well yesterday and I don't think Romo wins that game. In fact I'm sure that Romo would be on IR by now with the poor line play.

being in the playoffs year after year is hard but the packers have done it for eight years in a row coaching makes a huge difference in this league where ever team is so close

I'll be very interested to see if Dak chooses to re-sign here if things don't turn around, or if he'll get his new monster contract elsewhere. It may be smart for him to choose the latter.

Silver lining here: I do think the fairly young core of the oline and a young stud RB give Dak a better foundation going forward on one side of the ball.
Yes, same old story with the defense. But even at least they are very young, so there's at least hope for growth of current players while they add key pieces (hopefully).
In the coming years, Dak and crew have a shot to get it done.

Have to get to where the team is contending (top 6-8 teams) every year, then the odds favor them to break through.

Probably him and Zeke leaving.

We would have been to the NFC championship or superbowl with Romo last year, yes.

But Dak played great yesterday even tomorrow as grey as he was couldn't overcome our horrible defenses

Dak was sensational in the playoff game.

Let's be real though.. Dak was fantastic yesterday.

He has inherited Romo's defense.

Yes, this is in no way a shot at Dak. Prescott gave us a Romo-esque performance, complete with a receiver turning a reception into an interception. He sometimes scrambles for yardage where Romo might have passed instead, but the result is the same, a performance good enough to win if the supporting cast had got the job done.

Obviously I'd like both of them here, but I don't know why they would. Especially Dak. If I were him, I would not want my career to be Romo 2.0 on this team (and I mean that as no insult to Tony).

Maybe we would have gotten further last year with Romo, but it's most likely our defense would have derailed us ... or the Green Bay game would have turned out the same because our defense let us down once again.
