Maybe the Commanders should have drafted a QB instead of keeping Cousins

I'm ready for him to move on. Hopefully Gruden goes with him. I actually think we’re looking at a losing record this season, especially with us going into the hardest part of our schedule with all of these injuries.

Maybe if we draft in the Top 10 we can be high enough to get a QB. But honestly, where you draft really isn’t a guarantee either. Brady was a sixth round pick. Wilson was a third round pick. Watson a second rounder. If you have good scouting, you can pick the best QB in the draft and not have a top 5 overall pick.

Maybe they should've drafted a QB??

They did...his name is RG3 and they spent like a dozen picks on him. They're DAMN lucky they grabbed Cousins later in that same draft. Otherwise they'd be in full on QB purgatory like 65% of the league is.

Well watching yesterday. Cousins looked average.
Then at the end of this year he will go where the $$$ is out west in San Francisco.
Then the 49'er fans and team can be disappointed as the Commander fans are.

Personally I think Cousins is an excellent game manager. He is a great QB until he hits the redzone, but he has nevee been a good short field QB. Consider that he had nearly 5,000 yards last season and completed 67% of his passes but only had 25 TD's. That validates the eyeball test that his ability wanes in the redzone.

I think Jacksonville is a great spot for him. He would have a great defense that is good enough to be a driving force behind wins. He also has two very talent runners in Fornette and Yeldon, who can take over in the red zone

I think a lot of that has to do with the WR that the skins have on their roster. Their best wrs seem to be smallish. Doctson is looking like a bust, Pryor while unpolished looks a lot like RW11 part deux, an all pro TE that can't stay healthy.

Watson went 12th overall.

But yea, I agree with your overall point. Good scouting and making sure the QB fits your offensive gameplan unless he is truly elite and win with a rock as an OC. Some QBs have some flaws which make them fall, which if they and the coaches work on, can overcome/fix those flaws and develop into a legit starter.

Thanks for the correction. Someone went in the second round last draft. Maybe I confused Watson's draft spot with Kizer. Either way like you said, some of the best QBs in a draft aren't the first one chosen. Aaron Rodgers was passed on by the majority of the league, including my team, before he was finally chosen to sit a couple years.

That is why I have continually said "vet min plus incentives". Pay this punk what he deserves.

He is worth not a penny more. ******* greedy traitor, willing to take 1/4 of the salary cap for himself and handicap us in other positions.

He does not embody the Core Commander. He does NOT have the Code Of The Warrior.

Throwing a pick 6 on a potential game winning drive to that reject Byron Jones is inexcuable.

Getting *****ed, in MUST WIN back to back divisional games, is inexcuable.

So, I thought Pyror could of been a decent receiver, aka at least a #2.
But on the year, through 7 games, he has 18 catches...
Does he not fit the offensive scheme, is he lazy or is he just not getting the looks from Cousins?

They aren't going to draft a qb. They will pick up Winston because it looks like he is done in Tampa with that performance and run him as Doug Williams 2.0.

Kirk doesn't trust WRs who don't run precise routes and drop the ball. At this point, even Doctson of 8 game starts is more reliable and trusted than Pryor is. In Cleveland, they were forcing the ball to him and ignoring that he may not have been in the right spot, or that he dropped a ton of passes. Kirk hasn't really given Pryor more than a glance since he dropped a TD and lost a potential 80 yard TD in Week 1.

Watching him run his routes yesterday reminded me that he ran harder in TC. I think he personally feels like he isn't getting the ball whether he's open or not, and that has affected his focus in-game.

I'm NOT a Cousins fan, and certainly not trying to start an argument on who is better (I take Dak all day), but he does lead Dak in just about every measurable category. And often by a large margin.

more total yards
higher comp percentage
higher yards per attempt
higher passer rating

Dak does have the better pass TD to INT differential at 10 to 9.

You really think Gruden will be there next year? Winston will be great at another team if they allow him to be himself and not be a game manager.

I have no idea. Snyder and Allen are predictable. They are likely going to look for a scapegoat once the season is over, and at this point there is no one left to get thrown to the wolves. But I just have a feeling he’s safe for at least one more season.

Guess he isn't going to the Niners, now that they picked up Jimmy G from the Pats.

Denver, Jacksonville and Arizona seem like the best bets if he wants a chance to win.

I've always liked to give QB's a letter grade. Simplifies it.

Cousins is a B- to C quarterback, depending on the game. Slightly above average to average

He had 72 catches last year with crappy Cleveland QBs.

What Gruden needs to do is insist on a trip to the jungle of sub Saharan Africa or South America in the offseason. Challenge his supposed warriors to prove it and survive there for 10 days with him. Lead them into battle by example, armed with only spears to survive in the jungle.

Right now he does not have the respect of the team, and it shows. He needs to do a team-building activity lie this, to show he is a warrior himself willing to go into battle, rather than Snyder's and Allens boy toy.
