I agree but they did do this back in the 70s the Eagles did it and found a receiver Vince Pompali remember.. Cowboys did this I don't remember what part of the 90s mid 90s late 90s I don't remember didn't Jesse Holly got picked up in a contest that Michael Irvin put on..

It's not unheard of but again I agree they should just use the bye week to host free agents get guys like Kendricks in here and get them rolling find a safety find something to try to get going down the stretch for the harder games...

But yeah free agent try out you know current NFL players and UFL players that are still out there..

I know, but I'm talking about open tryouts to see if there's talent out there that has been missed. I'm not saying for potential starters, but surely we can find people who may have been overlooked and might actually have a chance at contributing.

If part of the issue on that side of the ball is talent, then it might be worth holding tryouts at The Star. The Metroplex, as is the case in Texas in general, has a lot of people who have probably played football in high school. However, things like injuries when they were in school may have derailed their abilities at the time or they were maybe on teams that weren't very good to where they weren't scouted. Additionally, chances are, there may be people that dreamed of playing for the Cowboys growing up.

Given all that in place, why not hold try outs? What's the worst that can happen? If there aren't any good options, then so be it. But, if there are some people with potential, then who knows? Maybe we can find some talent that way? If talent acquisition is a 365 day affair, then this might be a way to find more talent. Jerry and Stephen like to dumpster dive, then this would be right up their alley, and maybe a few people might be good enough to play linebacker and DB?
