Maybe this is why Dak took the locker room from Romo?

It's funny how if a co worker were to say something about another co worker such as "Bob seems like a nice guy, but he's distant" You'd probably accept that that person was honestly stating how they felt about their interactions with Bob.

But since it's said about your hero Romo, it's lies and slander.

Thats emotional attachment for you. Its normal and to be expected. Logical..NO..But to be expected. We all suffer from some form of this!

Media people getting their feelings hurt because people don't treat them like royalty .. that's something you don't see every day ..

Quite honestly, if I had ever been an NFL player, especially one that was really good, I'd make Richard Sherman look like the media's best friend. Heck, I'd give Belichick a run for his money when it comes to the press.

The media is becoming less and less relevant as we get more of our news and information directly from the sources.
Interesting.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
they problem that tony has is that he has never won a nfc championship game or went to the super bowl so everyone takes there shots that's just what they do if dak does not win in the playoffs it wont be long before the shots will start for him its easy when you win its a lot harder whenyou don't if the cowboys don't advance past this weekend there will be lots of doubt among the fans and media this is a huge opportunity for this team and its not a given that you will ever be in this situation again if they lose
Problem with that is........Dak is going to win.

Decent guy?

That's how I describe people I don't really like for a reason that has yet to be discovered.

What's with the obsession? I dunno, maybe it was because he was pretty much one of a small handful of guys who actually gave the team a chance to win for about 5-6 years.

I'd probably accept that this person is expressing how they "feel" about Bob, but based on my observations/interactions with Bob I'd also determine whether or not my coworker's feelings were something I should take seriously or even care about.

In terms of Ellis' comments, I've seen the garbage that Romo was surrounded by over the years so I've determined Ellis' curiosity regarding the "obsession" with Romo is either; A) disingenuous and intended only to get hits, or B) genuine, and completely naive. Any person who believes a QB (no matter how good said QB actually is) is the sole determining factor between winning and losing is an idiot.

Not the first reporter I've heard say something similar about Romo. /nohate

Josh Ellis is the most smug A-hole reporter I have ever encountered. He doesn't have anything to offer other than his own self appreciation

fwiw, I'll say this.

I know a guy that went to school with Tony (played on the defense at Eastern Illinois). I asked him how Tony was in person...and he said shy, reserved, didnt like to talk a lot, kinda of kept to himself.

If you watch him in conversations on the field, sideline, talking with the media, etc...you actually can get a good sense that he is indeed like that. Its a personality...its who tony is and he isnt/cant really change that.

I'd say Ellis is probably correct...but that he needs to sound less butt hurt about it.

If he was probably more outspoken, Garrett probably would have been replaced a lot sooner as OC and playcaller...

Rogers is not a leader? Where did you get that pice of knowledge?

It probably comes from the stories going around, when reporters were posting about his family issues this year. There were some that saying he was arrogant and stand-off-ish and rude, and others saying he was just demanding and wanted his players to be the best.

The difference between talking about a guys personality and this guy Ellis is that Ellis started if off by belittling Romo's accomplishments, as if he wasn't carrying garbage for years and the only reason the Cowboys were relevant.

It's probably a good time to point out that even though the team was winning, the locker room was given to Dak by fiat. After Tony was ready to play he wasn't even allowed to compete for the job Jerry had said was still his just a few weeks earlier. Instead of being the starting quarterback for America's team as he had been for a decade, his new job was running the scout team. It's not much different than expecting the locker room to line up behind a hot dog vendor.

It could turn out to be Jerry's biggest blunder since paying a king's ransom in picks and salary for Roy Williams while Miles Austin was riding the pine as a receiver and running back kicks. We'll find out sometime in the next month, or worst case, maybe even next year after Tony is gone.

I don't think it takes a genius to postulate that intentionally not starting your best quarterback in the playoffs could come back and take a big chuck out of your own behind.
I dont think that is on jerry, it was JG and linehan wanting to go with dak, and stephen was probably on board with that.
I think jerry wasnt but went along with the others.
Thing is we will never know what would have happened had they went back to romo.
