Maybe we should've made Al Harris the DC

I’ve heard several people say that the issue the Cowboys had with Al Harris was that he was too much of a player’s coach.

They said he took their side and coddled them too much, specifically in the case of Diggs. It’s claimed that he was too easy and failed to push him hard enough.

The word on Diggs was that you had to coach him hard to get the most out of him and Harris wasn’t going that his last year or so.
Understood. But isn’t it also safe to say that the one positional coach’s who got the most out of his unit was Harris? His unit created 2 All Pros.

I was speaking about with Denver. I guess my point was the interest in Leonard is about what he did for the Broncos and what he can become. He didn’t call plays there. His play calling isn’t why there’s interest.
He’s not the defensive coordinator in Denver. Why would he be calling plays there?

That’s hard to argue.

Also hard to argue that Diggs’ level of play fell off a cliff these past few years. Some of which was also under Harris.

I think that Al Harris ruffled some feathers in Dallas, so they’re not interested in a return.

I mean his downfall coincides with his injuries. So I’m not sure if it’s the injuries or the coaching.

But yeah it appears he ruffled feathers..:I hope whoever they interview they aren’t afraid of someone who might ruffle feathers we might as well cross a lot of guys off.

Parsons antics showed his selfishness, when they asked him to become more of a leader.
Naw I can’t do that because they asked him to mess with his money and when it comes to money Jerry doesn’t play about his so he can’t expect someone to let him play with theirs.

I made the mistake last year saying we shouldn’t make him the DC because he’s never called plays….here we are a year later covering guys like Jim Leonard who also has never called plays.

It may be time to write a wrong here.

Brian Broaddus seems adamant Shotty doesn’t like him. And I can’t understand why….
"write a wrong"?

Yooo man...Ima stop dissing you...you do such a good job yourself.

And despite your plain "agenda"...there is no way they were going to move him from secondary to d-coordinator with no experience. It's clear he's a great secondary coach and yes others do get promotions without all the red tape...but...it was still a longshot.

You failed to mention that Broaddus and Belt said the Cowboys believe that it was Harris who indulged Diggs and encouraged the malcontent he is today. In other words, Harris is not a company man. That alone might explain the fallout.

Him lying down in that preseason game sent him packing.

What's funny is that your song and dance are predictable. You have ONE ANGLE through which you view everything...sorta like Dak...it's all for "the brotherhood"...when in fact...it's just a reflection of emptiness.

:)
Ahhh there we go. I was waiting for you to mention your man crush Monday Dak.

Like you know I don’t respect your opinion or your shucking and jiving so why even respond to me? You know how this is gonna go every time and yet you still get served up and keep tap dancing for more. I don’t get you.

I don’t think so. Him not accepting Jerry’s deal got him sent packing. Jerry wanted him to play on a franchise tag deal. Let’s call it what it is. And hey id trade Micah too. But let’s not lie to ourselves and pretend like it was a culture move. It wasn’t.

He did request a trade after he didn't accept the deal he agreed to.

You guys keep saying that but where is this coming from? And like a poster said I’m more concerned with my OC being a tactian. A dc? I’m not.
Why not? Why does it require a different aptitude? Is the defensive side of the ball not reliant on schemes and plays?

I’m not sure you are familiar with Leonhard at all beyond what you’re read to argue against him and on behalf of Harris. It’s odd

The deal he agreed to with no agent present lol. Are you seriously saying that we let Micah go because of culture?
Yes, believe it was part of their decision. They were going to give him a huge extension, after he acted out, the trust was lost in the player.
