Yep the experts around here keep telling us that a great QB must "elevate his receivers" and "carry his team" so the fact that Mahomes is not "elevating" 80 year old Kelce and a bunch of inconsistent receivers is evidence that he is no longer great. Or maybe it's just further proof that this whole "team game" thing needs to be paid closer attention.

Stop posting things that have been proven a thousand time over that even the vast majority of Cowboy fans don't believe and being surprised when it's called out for being wrong.

Dak is performing the best out of the current starting QBs. The numbers and the tapes prove it. You're just in denial because you dislike him as your starting QB!

The list is solid given the circumstances. From the entire segment they said they literally called McCarthy while he was dropping his kids off at school and had him name his top 5 of 2025 off the top of his head so this is not a well thought out list. He also talked up the value of efficiency and completion percentage. I didn't realize it until I looked it up but Daniel Jones is 3rd in the league in yards per attempt and 5th in completion percentage. From the criteria McCarthy put out there DJ fits the list.

How do you know if it was not well thought out?

Maybe he put a lot of thought into the day before.

Football ratings are subject to change with each and every season and even every game within that season. McCarthy has a high opinion of Dak, which is his privilege to hold. At present, Dak is playing at his very best. Of course, I'm hoping his health permits that to continue.

Hopefully, he'll continue to do so but that certainly remains to be seen. In the past, I've seen Dak as anywhere from the top 10 to less than that, depending on his recent performances.

Right now, he likely deserves being rated much higher, although there's always that question as to whether he'll be able to continue at that level in the future. As a loyal fan, I wish him the very best. He's been fortunate to enjoy a great running attack and an OL that makes it all possible, lately.

I will never understand why some fans like trashing a QB for not playing so well in a super bowl. You heard that, right? He played in a super bowl, his 4th or 5th if I remember right.

Remind me again how many super bowls Dak has played in. Better yet, what's his playoff record? Yet you feel the need to trash a QB who has played in the 2nd most super bowls in NFL history in an attempt to prop up Dak..

Right now? This season? I think it's fair. You can make an argument for Mahomes, but you can for Jones, too. A few weeks from now or late in the season, that might be different, but Jones is playing pretty well right now and Mahomes made a costly mistake, throwing an interception that was returned for a TD in a three-point loss to the Texans. That's going to ding you as a QB.
