McCarthy has a new lease on the season

Losing your starting QB pretty well takes all of the pressure off relieving accountability towards the results of a season with high expectations that was on the brink of collapsing with his starting QB and #1 offense.

Now with veteran Dalton serving as the backup the pressure is off. He begun by rallying to win his first game without Dak. Andy drove us down on the final drive making a huge throw to set up the winning kick.

It’s like McCarthy has a new lease on the season. No one expects us to win now. He hasn’t illustrated much edge of his past success and experience up until now. Hopefully he can insert himself more into the offense. This is an opportunity he might not have had otherwise.

 

McCarthy wasn't in jeopardy, with or without Dak.

 

I don’t think we’ll be any worse with Dalton. The defense will continue to hold this team back.

 

MM had no pressure on him anyway. So this does not make a difference.

 

Pretty sure Nolan's lease is past due. Someone get me Wade's number..I'm gonna fix this team.

 

Didn’t say anything about being In jeopardy. But he was under huge scrutiny and criticism thus far for the results. That’s basically off the table now.

 

But he won’t be subject to the same level of criticism. No one expects you to have success without your QB.

 

I would be all for this... Wade may have been a terrible HC but I wouldn't mind him as a DC.

 

Jerry brought McCarthy in to work with Dak. So far McCarthy has not shown excellence in this field.

 

Dan Quinn is going to be available tomorrow.

 

Im not giving him much of a pass. Ive seen quality back ups come in and energize teams before. Especially in our division, my expectation is that he should be able to get to the playoffs with Dalton. Anything less should be considered a disappointment

Exactly...we were 1-3 with the #1 offense, actually 0-4 but for the falcons meltdown..how much worse could it get?

 

Are we watching different games? This is the best Dak has looked in his entire career. Thank McCarthy for that

 

Well, less the turnovers.

 

Only coach on the hot seat was Nolan and some of thr assistants. He may even get a pass with a short off season and injuries suffered early on.

 

Lets not kid ourselves the team we beat tonight was complete garbage. Easily the worst team in football.

 

Both of our wins are against 0-5 teams.

 

That is the dude I would trip over myself to get in here. Nolan is brutally bad and McCarthy is accountable for that hire.

 

I do not sense any changes with Dak gone and Dalton in.

The problems has not been offense.

It's defense.

How do you fix that with so many injuries?

We just lost Hill for who knows how long.
