Twitter: McClain apologizes to Witten for spleen injury

McClain, who was then with the Raiders, delivered the hit. The linebacker never said a word to Witten about the play until earlier this week when he accompanied his new teammates to training camp.
“The first day he was in, he came over and said something to me,” Witten said. “I think he apologized a little bit.

“Hey, there are no hard feelings there. He got a good hit in. It’s football. I’m excited to see what he can do, and hopefully he can help our team.’’

Witten was never upset by the hit. The reaction after the tackle was another matter.

I disagree, I feel like it's the opposite. Maybe it's all of the community events that he goes to, leads me to believe he's a great, caring, and understanding guy.

That won't be an easy job. McClain handled blocks by OLineman about as well as any LB that I've seen (not including 3-4 OLBs) while he was in Oakland.

Ego wise, big time! He is a great player and hides it well Tough guys never like being one upped...equate it to big legal hit in boxing (too aggressive/expose). You got me and I was down...wish I could have gotten back up (stupid refs/med) to show you who really got it!

I never thought it was a dirty hit, just a really hard one. Maybe a little excessive considering it was preseason.
