James Jones is so ridiculous. I've never seen a guy make so many special plays make so many stupid plays lol. He has so much potential but at this point he simply is what he is. A screw up waiting to happen.

When James Jones has been "on" he has been pretty amazing. When James Jones has been "off" he has looked awful.

We are talking about a guy who as a #3 WR led the league with 14 TD receptions. Conversely, he routinely drops routine passes in clutch situations.

To that end, maybe playing in the dregs of Oakland made him dislike football. Randy Moss basically said he packed it in at times out there, I guess its possible that the environment is so bad that guys just straight up don't want to play there.

Pretty much the same story as Kyle Orton - who retired just to get the hell out of Dallas lol

I agree. I think that was a big part and being too far from home.

True. But, it's more of a spiritual thing with him. He's a God-fearing man, and he has to have God at the center/foundation of his life in order to feel like his life is in order. In Oak, he lost that. That's why he began acting out. He knew that if he didn't leave that environment, and re-commit his life to God, he'd self destruct. So, he did a brave thing in turning down all that money and retiring, and going back home to get his life in order. He's done that, and seems to be in a much better place. Personally, I'm proud of him. That took guts.

Yeah and he probably would've had more TD's if not from the boneheaded decisions. But I agree. He's a really rare case and now he's in Oakland? Its not shocking he had probably one of his most epic blunders this past Sunday as a Raider.

This guy is better than Lee and hopefully will be our MLB for the next decade. None of us know his story. His head is on straight now and so let's roll! We've got our Patrick Willis.

i hope you are kidding. lee is one of the best MLB in the game. he also has 11 career ints to mcclains 2. i like what mcclain has brought but he is far from being better than lee. and as for lee's availibility, he has played more games going into this year than mcclain

I'm not kidding, and it's not a slight of Lee. I want them both on the field. McClain is the better MLB. Watch.

I think this fast start for Rolondo McClain can be the springboard to great things in Dallas. I think we are all creatures of momentum, and some more than others. His interception yesterday was a big play, and was outstanding effort and concentration on his part. The success he has had early should help him get his momentum going and could propel him to great success in Dallas. Time will tell.

What I look forward to seeing is the impact he has on the team as a whole. He brings an element to football this defense has sorely lacked for some time: attitude. He hits with ill-intentions. He slings players around like a pit bull playing with a stuffed animal. The more his peers see this, the more you will see other players adopt his passion and urgency and slowly but surely this defense could finally have a respectable identity much like what Ray Lewis added to the Ravens.

Officials haven't caught up with the freakish athleticism of guys like McClain and Dez, and it has cost the Cowboys two TD in the last four games. It usually costs Dez about one big play per season, in fact. Hopefully, we got that over with in that preseason game.

A good official sees with his eyes, instead of with an assuming mind. If there's any doubt, let it play out. If it wasn't a TD, they can always go to the replay to find out where to spot the ball when they bring it back. No harm done.

They never will catch up till they - train - replace 50 plus with 35 to 45 year old referees.

jday, I tell you this old linebacker is excited. I would love to see Sean Lee at weakside linebacker, where I think that he stays healthy. Then Carter would have to get up to standard of the old Giant linebacker who paired with Lawrence Taylor.

I'm leery of McClain still. I read an OAK fan who said he had a habit of showing and then disappearing for long stretches. I should know better than to listen to a random fan on the internet, but it stuck with me, and now I'm waiting for the guy to turn into a pumpkin at some point.

Different player, different person. He hints at off the field issues in his life then in a recent interview. Basically he needed to grow up. That is the likely reason for lapses in play. He's got IT. I am thrilled we got this guy.

It does sound like has connected the dots now. Hopefully we can avoid contract issues next year.

It very well could be a thing of beauty next year...

Far too many refs blow the play dead then reverse the call when what they should be doing is letting the play go then reversing it if necessary. By letting the play go, you invoke the rule that turnovers are automatically reviewed, whereas by blowing it dead, you force a coach to burn a challenge. It's just illogical.

He brings a fire that has been missed from this defense since the days RW31 and Woody patrolled the secondary. THe one thing that sacred me about his getting his personal life together story was the fact he drew a lot of emotion and intensity from that and i was worried he would comeback more like RW38.
