The stash will not approve.
He also leads the division in drafting Taco Charlton.
Anyone that is over 45 years of age and enjoyed old school football needs to revamp their ideas based on the new rules.
Happy for Dak. Keep it up kid.
If he was involved in picking Morris Claiborne over Fletcher Cox, I have no words.
Pro bowlers aren’t always all pro guys tho
I thought the 3-4, 4-3 draft board thing was reported in multiple places to be a myth.
It was simply that Jerry, since he was the GM, wasn't managing the flow of information properly and it all came to head in that draft where the scouts had said Floyd was the guy but Marinelli then told Jerry he wanted no part of Floyd at all. It was from that point, Jerry knew he needed a "GM" type to handle the true day to day stuff a GM does in working up to the draft.
You must be mistaken. I've heard numerous times on this board that Rod Marinelli (perhaps with Jason Garrett's support) makes draft picks. Which is odd because Garrett is just Jerry's puppet. But Stephen is really running the show. Clear as mud?
Is that last part accurate?
For example, Bob Sturm said this........
I want the culprit executed by sharks with friggin’ lasers.
I'm glad that these things have to be brought out now in the great PR effort to wash away the stench of the Taco Charlton failure.
It's not transparent at all.
True but which one of our pro bowlers are bums?
The Taco pick was a failure. No question about it. And McClay deserves his share of the blame. He doesn't go scott free on this one. It should have been Watt
But based on his body of work, he's been an excellent addition to the team.
In fact, all the hand wringing regarding salary cap and paying Dak, Zeke, the o-line, Jaylon, Byron, etc. is because these were all excellent drafts picks. Add in LVE, Chido, and others and it's clear the positives greatly outweigh the negatives regarding McClay.
How about some context here?
Here are the defensive lineman New England drafted from 2010 through 2016:
Not one guy is still on the New England roster. Most are gone from the league. 1st round draft pick Easley was waived after two seasons in New England.
This has been tried already. Easley's issues were injury related. Not the case for Taco at all.
Taco was injured between his ears. lol
Revisionist history in full swing
I just don't think Belichek values d-lineman. He let Richard Seymour, Chandler Jones, Jabbal Sheard and Trey Flowers walk rather than paying them. Doesn't matter. He still wins Super Bowls.
He pays more attention to the back end. He brought in guys like Talib, Revis and Gilmour. He keeps guys like Chung and McCourty. D-lineman are interchangable in Belichek's mind. Sure, many of the above were bad picks. But he doesn't care.
In between trying to make personal attacks and stalking me, try to have an actual point next time.
