NO BOWLING FOR McFADDEN?
Check out our sister site, CollegeFootballTalk.com, for a story regarding the possibility that two-time Heisman finalist Darren McFadden won't be playing in the Cotton Bowl.
On one hand, one more football game provided another opportunity for McFadden to suffer an injury, which could limit his draft stock. On the other hand, McFadden could lose a chance to cement his standing as the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
Last year, for example, LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell vaulted to the top of the draft board after shredding the block of Swiss cheese known as the Notre Dame defense.

Unless you are thinking about 2009 draft, I believe Felix Jones is returning to the school and will not be available for 2008 draft.

I guess he is going pro.

McFadden’s availability in question
Courier sports staff

University of Arkansas’ sports information director told a Little Rock television station Wednesday night the university’s compliance director is investigating why Razorback running back Darren McFadden was driving a new Cadillac Escalade last week.

KTHV (Channel 11) reported McFadden has been seen driving a new Cadillac Escalade, and questions are being asked about how he got it. A compliance director from another university told KTHV if the two-time Heisman Trophy runner-up received the car as a payment for future services, he is then a professional and no longer eligible for college football. That would mean no Cotton Bowl on Tuesday.

If he bought the car or obtained a loan, with a delayed payment plan, he is still within NCAA guidelines and would be eligible for the bowl game.
UA Sports Information Director Kevin Trainor told the station the university is aware of the situation.

Yeah, it was given that McFadden would make himself available for 2008 draft. But Felix Jones have stated that he is returning to the school.

Is it just me or does McFadden already seem like a primadonna??? I think some team is going to have there hands full with this guy....anyone who purposely skips the final bowl game of his college career in order to accept a car puts the "me" in epitome of selfishness.

look at all the deals you and i can get on a car these days. maybe mcfadden broke the rules and accepted payment, or maybe he found a dealer and said "hey, i'm the one jerry jones is going to pay through the nose for - mind if i buy this car now and i'll come back the day after the draft and buy another and pay for both."

we'll see what happens first.

I am not sure which part I missed, but either way he should have waited until after the game before accepting a gift and missing out on his final college game.

I've never heard of a player skipping an actual bowl game to preserve his draft status. The Senior Bowl or the combine, yes, but not a bowl game. I'll believe it when I see it.

Yeah... I would have to think it's more because of possibly getting payment for future services then to avoid injury. That's why some college players have those multi-million dollar insurance premiums if they do play...

It's just you.

Try to have a clue what you're talking about before posting.
