He has it playing out like this which would suck for us....hopefully hes wrong

Joeckel
Jordan
Ansah
Star
Fisher
Smith
Johnson
Warmack
Milliner
Floyd
Cooper
Rhodes
Austin
Richardson
Mingo
Patterson
Jones
Vaccaro

Notable players going after us....
Fluker @ #19
Sly Williams @ #25
Werner @ #28
Datone Jones @#29

So would you be upset if Vaccaro was the pick in this scenario? I'm sure most of us would want to trade down in this scenario, but lets just say thats not an option. Would you take Vaccaro or someone else?

I don't think they would take Vacarro at 18. I would not be surprised if they have Reid ranked higher than Vacarro.

With all the high praise for Chuch/Johnson, I would be shocked if we take a safety in the 1st or 2nd.

I wouldn't. They brought in a lot of safties for visits with second round grades.

You'd be surprised how many do.

I just posted 5 new mocks from various analysts and her is where they had Werner going:

  • 2nd round
  • 30th
  • 17th
  • 29th
  • 19th

No problems if they take Vaccaro in that scenario. Dallas is pretty talent starved at Safety as well.

I'd take Fluker in this scenario.

Would be an incident of the board falling terribly for us though.
If a QB and 2 WRs go before we pick I want a better choice than Fluker/Vaccaro.

I hope Alec Ogletree goes in top 18. Tyler Eiffort as well.

People jumping on those OGs so early would be shocking and crushing.

I agree. The local sports talk continues to mention that the odds, based on draft history, of so many o-linemen going so early are not good. Someone is going to reach and one of the guards will fall to 18.

We need a RT even worse than OG in my opinion, so I'm expecting to hear an OT, OG, or DT taken in round 1.

I don't like these safeties enoough to believe that any of them will automatically start even if taken #1.

I think we can find a nice safety available in round 2 so I'd take Fluker but I like Vaccaro so I wouldn't be angry with him being the pick either.

Fluker and Vaccaro are a toss up for me.

Vaccaro bit hard on a couple of PA fakes and missed some open field tackles. He has man coverage skills, is relentless, an elite athlete. I don't get into the whole freaking out about interceptions. They happen on maybe 2% of snaps and serve to distract from the other 98%. I watched him cover Tavon Austin. He is great at pursuit.

Fluker has elite size and will dominate DE, even the big 300 lbers in the run game. Dominant man run blocker. He is obviously slow footed dropping into his set though but it didn't seem to hurt him all that much. I have not seen him challenged with a truly elite upfield pass rush though. I also never saw him playing from behind. He only pass blocked on consecutive plays a handful of times all season long.

Both are flawed players but having to choose between the two from doing this little writeup I have to go with Vaccaro.

Who would trade up though? Minnesota has pick 23 I believe, I don't see anyone on our list that they'd want bad enough to move up.
