I realize it's hard to follow all 32 teams and what their needs are and how may choices they have and in what round, but.... On Mike and Mike they were doing a question and answer and someone asked what Dallas would do. Golic asks what they can do without a first and third. McShay responds with, "yeah, they only have 1 pick in the first 4 rounds". Come on, we have a 2nd, a 3rd and two 4ths. 4 picks in the top 101.

it is his job to be informed on all 32 teams . not so hard to do if you ask me!

what has happened , they see that Dallas traded their own 3 and did not look far enough to see that Dallas has another teams 3... Lazy is what I like to call it!

Look at how much we know by just sitting at home, we have alot of info from looking at TV and been on the web all day, how else can we do a mock draft and be remotely close, Kiper has alot of sources and basically if you were a nobody and was gonna be drafted in the 6th round and Mel hype u up to be a 1st or early second, I would assume GMs around the league would take a look and there would be a chance u go in the 2nd or 3rd even though u were a 6th round project at best....

Kiper isn't a scout and has never claimed to be.

He's an information gatherer.

In reality, that's all Gil ever was, too (even when he was employed by the Cowboys). Gil just has time to be at all these places.

So true... but it is OBVIOUS that he is there to rile up Kiper. If ESPN wanted to go legit they would get another Kiper-type, just to play devils advocate.

McShay is downright disrespectful - thats his angle hence making it ESPN's angle.

Actually, it's the complete opposite.

Kiper IS more of a scout than information gatherer, which is what the Goose ( Rick Gosellin ) is.

Kiper watches tons and tons of tape on prospects and gives his evaluation on them. Kiper's opinion should be taken as to what a player is and what he would project in the next level. He's not good at predicting where they'll go in the draft because Gil is exactly right, he's not on the field talking to GMs. That's what Goose does so well and why he's so accurate with his mock drafts.

However, Kiper does do his homework talking to coaches and evaluating films, which is, basically, most of a scouts' job.

I heard that interview, and I was saying to myself that McShay must not realize that we have Cleveland's third round pick.
