Roy "Alligator Arms" Williams

Guy looks scared going over the middle ever since Romo led him badly and he got laid out.

:laugh1: Well not that its an excuse but I would think any normal person would think twice about getting their ribs caved in.

Roy doesn't play every down. Actually I don't know any receiver that does.

Yeah, but that was the first time Hurd has seen any playing time since like the Seattle game. Hurd and Ogletree both saw considerable time last night. Just wondering if there is writing on the wall. :)

It was a throw to Austin but Romo short armed it so bad that it looked like it was to Felix. That was probably the only bad throw Romo had all game where I didn't know who he was going to on that play.

In regards to Roy, I don't understand the bashing. He didn't have a game changing game but only had 3 targets. He had one good catch and tried to make things happen and he had a drop in tough coverage that he should've made. I just don't get how anyone can from away from that game and say "Roy sucks". No not after what I saw Nick Folk do. Sorry. Between the great win and the Nick Folk kick? That's about all I remember. And oh yea Romo outplayed Brees and Wade outcoached Payton.

And let me say this i'm not sure if the slant is good for Roy unless the defender is 10 yards off of him. He gets zero seperation on his defender. Some call it poor route running. Its not its just Roy doesn't get any seperation. They really need to go a different route when it comes to routes for Roy.

Roy can't run any routes at all, then.

I guess he can run fly patterns since all you have to do is run straight down the field every play.

I don't believe the slant is right for Roy. Not when the corner is playing him so tight. Roy isn't gonna get seperation. He doesn't have the speed for it. Slants are more suited for guys like Wes Welker and Miles Austin. Run the slant with Roy when his cornerback is 10 yards off of him.

So Roy can't get open if the CB tries to cover him on his bread and butter play - why bother even putting him on the field if he is so limited?

The average "normal person" doesn't make $9M/yr. Quit making excuses for this waste of skin.

There was another play and I don't believe it involved Olgetree but it looked like Miles. But Romo was hurried and threw a near interception at the sideline. But he had a receiver that beat his man down the middle and if Romo saw him, there is another long touchdown. Miles, Ogletree, and Phillips were great last night.

I saw that too, but I think it was the 2nd series where we got a TD anyway (though my fantasy could have used more Romo/Austin TDs).

There was another play later on too where Romo started right and then came back left and hit Austin going left as well. Behind him about 1 yards Ogletree was running the same route and was just as wide open as Austin was.

The Saints secondary isn't very good me thinks.

Yeah, I saw that last night too... Romo I believe was scrambling to the right and the receiver was running hard the other direction. Romo would have had to throw hard back across his body which is usually trouble and cause for a possible int. This particular play there wasn't anybody cruising the middle where that might have been the case but it might have been a hard throw to complete. I saw LOTS of open receivers on certain plays and it made me wonder if we had a little better blocking up front and not so much of a jailbreak Romo would have even better numbers. Heck he has done a masterful job of cutting down on turnovers this season and I'm proud as heck of him. I hope we keep up this momentum.

So what you are saying is that RW11 is being used incorrectly by JG and needs routes that play to his strenths in order for him to be more reliable? I like Roy, but I love my team and if he doesn't catch balls in a reliable fashion then he needs benched.:bang2:

9 Million makes you made of teflon? All Roy did was sign the contract. Is that what you're faulting him for? For signing on the dotted line? Because you would've done different. You would've said "Jerry take this money back. You're overpaying me. Please take this money back and shed off about 20 million on this deal..."

Its too late to do anything this season about it. I just think you're going to see the same drops on these slant passes where the defender is right on him and not giving up any ground. TO was the same way. Randy Moss is as well. I think slants are more suited for the Wes Welkers and Miles Austin's. Especially when a corner is playing you tight on the line.

Austin had one drop, but Witten had 3 clear drops.

No one remembers Witten's drops. Only Roy's because Roy's was a game changer and he was wide open.........

Roy is what he is. His contract is always going to be a sore spot here. But the more the contract is an issue though, the worse Roy will play. The faster we all accept him for what he is, the faster he will give up illusions he is Drew Pearson and just play football.

Roy needs to be use as a possession receiver.. Because that is what he is. I don't like seeing him going deep at all. At the same time Roy needs to start making the damn catches. His bread and butter will be slants but he has dropped some of them.

Many time I feel JG is keeping Ogletree as a secret weapon for
critical games and plays
He was there during the Atlanta game and last night too
I think Garret doesn't want to expose him alot for teams to study him

This is his trump card I'd assume along with Choice may be

Time to bench RW11.

Definitely don't throw to him on critical downs.

Or it could be because Witten is the best tight end in Cowboy's history and has proven his worth to this team over and over again ... either or.

not to mention he rarely drops a pass. Roy has consistently dropped passes all year. Romo is playing great this year all while not being insync with Roy "I run terrible routes" Williams.
