I was driving home from work last night and was listening to this sports radio show from Sacramento. This guy on it was a complete idiot. He is big time giants fan and said that if Romo started that the Cowboys would go 6-10. I am not saying that Romo is great but he has been impressive. I was just little upset with someone who has not even heard of Romo could actually give an opinion. In fact, the other guy, asked if he ever seen him play and he reported no but he can't be good if he was never drafted. Some people are in the media are completely clueless about players and should not have an opinion if they have never even seen a person play.

Yeah look at the HOF players that were never drafted. Drew Pearson was undrafted. Wasn't Everson Walls undrafted? What a dink.

Maybe he's basing his opinion on the fact that Romo has never thrown a regular season pass more than the fact that he's undrafted.

I don't think 6-10 is an absurd prediction if you look at the facts.

Romo may indeed have a very bright future. But he's never seen a regular season defense, nor a defense that studies him to defense his style.

It would be WAY early to predict 2006 success for Romo with any certainty IMO.

He's had plenty of time to learn the system. He's not a rookie fresh out of school and even if he was, look at what Orton and Roethlisberger have done.

I completely agree with this post.

If Romo had to go the distance for any length of time, it would be a completely different ball game for him. Not saying he hasn't done well but the truth of the matter is that young QBs in there first year of starting generally struggle.

Marino and Roeth did fine but we've been playing modern era football for something like 50 years now and 2 out of however many in 50 years is not a trend I'd invest a great deal of faith in. JMO of course.

Not saying Romo would definitely fail if he started in 2006. Just indicating the odds would be very much against him and preseason does not give you a crystal clear view of his readiness. That's why I don't think 6-10 is absurd.

Players like Rothlisberger and Marino (far more than Ben) have beaten the odds before but as ABQ stated they are the vast minority.
