Don't know, that's a tall order to eclipse JaMarcus Russell in that department.

Given the fact that the skins invested 3 first round and a second round pick in RGiii, I would say he eclipsed JaMarcus Russell from that perspective.

Anyone notice the Commanders OL very slow to help Griffin up after getting hit? There were a couple of times where it seemed none them helped him up at all.

You cant make this stuff up & w/ the real life RGBust, Jay Gruden drama who would even try to make anything up?
bash_rg3.gif

Being an NFL quarterback quite naturally has its perks. Up until now, being Robert Griffin III has meant enjoying special benefits, too, for the Washington Commanders.

Not anymore.

The tension between RGIII and coach Jay Gruden is at a boiling point and Sunday, more evidence of that was brought to light.

According to NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport, Griffin has lost certain privileges, such as his wife no longer being allowed at training camp practices — just as the wives of other players are not allowed.

And there's more:

The landscape has changed for RGIII. No more special rules for him, including his family essentially having all-access to the facility.

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 23, 2014

Commanders' officials have supported Gruden's tough-guy stance on RGIII. That included plenty of critical comments of Griffin's performance.

"He's auditioned long enough. Clock's ticking. He's got to play," Gruden said. "We want Robert to excel, we really do. But the last two games, it hasn't been very good, anywhere. We got to play better around him. And the biggest thing for us as play-callers, and for him, we just have to come together and jell with plays he's comfortable with. That takes time. But we don't have a lot of time."

I can't believe they were giving him all those special privileges while the rest of the team couldn't do the same things, strikes me as a recipe for failure for team play so keep it up skins

Article in today's Washington Express comparing him to the former massive bust in DC, Heath Shuler :muttley:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/expre...ok-like-a-former-Commanders-quarterback-bust/

RGIII is starting to look like a former Commanders quarterback bust

imrs.php

Quarterback Robert Griffin III hasn’t had a passer rating above 100 in any of the four games he’s finished this year. Washington is 0-4 in those contests. (Ricky Carioti/The Washington Post))

It’s the curse of Heath Shuler.

Mobile college quarterbacks are so enticing at draft time. Coming out of Baylor, Robert Griffin III was blessed with both Olympic sprinting speed and a big arm.

But the Commanders passer is fading quickly — much like the No. 3 overall pick in 1994.

Shuler barely played during his third season with Washington and then was traded to New Orleans for essentially two beers on Bourbon Street and a blocked field goal to be named later. And the Commanders still got the better end of the deal because Shuler started only nine games for the Saints before an injury forced his retirement.

...
...
...

It’s essentially a new game for Griffin, and he’s not comfortable yet. The passer wants to do what has always worked, but that’s gone. And the coaching staff wants to do what works for them, and that’s also failing. The Commanders have just two touchdowns in their past two games.

Shuler was known as the biggest Commanders bust ever. It hurt the franchise for years. Barring a quick turnaround, Griffin will replace Shuler in infamy given it cost Washington three first-round picks and a second-rounder to get him.

Maybe someone should hang a sign over Commanders Park’s personnel offices: Beware of the mobile quarterback.

I knew that Washington would not be a threat when Steve Spurrier said in his press conference after being hired that they were going to beat the Cowboys. It told just about everything about Snyder as the Cowboys were coming off two 5-11 seasons in a row and instead of worrying about the perennial NFC East champs, the Eagles, they were still more concerned with the Cowboys.

And looking back, we can see that Snyder had other types of problems that he has had with RG3 in favoring certain players. I think the classic example could be made for Darrell Green, one of the most overrated corners in history. I remember a few years go Norv Turner made it a point to tell the world how he saw Irvin destroy Green, when Norv was with the Cowboys and then the Washington HC. And watching A Football Life with Marty Schottenheimer, it was apparent that Green was a real problem for Schottenheimer as well. It appears that both Norv and Schottenheimer wanted to get rid of Green, but Green was untouchable because of Snyder's mancrush on him.

So as long as Snyder remains healthy, the rest of the NFC East can consider Washington the red headed stepchild of the division.

Didnt Irvin in his rookie year have 3 TD catches at RFK with Green covering him?

Breaking news on ESPN tonight. The Commanders are benching RG III which will probably lead to them not picking up his 18 million dollar option. He has the worst QBR of any quarterback with at least 100 attempts. Cousins will be the starter the rest of the way.

Talk about an absolute franchise crushing miss. Not only does it set them back years but you also have to figure in the opportunity lost from the draft picks and they are starting over from scratch.

To be honest, kinda gives me a very uneasy pause when I think about the post Romo era.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...t-mccoy-robert-griffin-iii-indianapolis-colts

The Washington Commanders are planning to start Colt McCoy over Robert Griffin III this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, according to a team source.

While Griffin is not a part of Washington's plan for Sunday's game, he still appears to be a significant part of the Commanders' long-term plan, per another source.

Yet right now, the Commanders are hitting the reset button, though it might not last long, a source cautioned as Washington has high hopes for the coming offseason.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, they're starting Cousins over McCoy? Excuse me while I do a happy dance.

ETA: They must be serious about tanking the season now haha

Franchise is floundering. Too bad for Skins fans. I can empathize but not sympathize.

Inaccurate and slow at reading D's.... once he got hurt and couldn't run as much his value as an NFL took a hit.

What did they trade for that guy again? 3 1st round picks?
