Bolt

I can't believe he set two world records in the same olympics. Incredible.

I'm really enjoying watching the guy run, and all the records fall. But boy he's gonna look like a fool, with all the hot dogging, if it comes out in a few months that he's doping.

Oh man, would that ever look bad. At least Ben Johnson was kind of shy and humble in some ways.

and at least Ben Johnson knew every other runner in the 100m final in Seoul was also doping.

Bolt makes it look way too easy.

I know you are Canadian and trying to defend your boy Ben Johnson but Ben Johnson didn't know ****. He got caught cheating so it seems to me every other runner knew that Johnson was doping.

He and his coach Charlie Francis after the gold was stripped said everyone else in the race was cheating. Lewis has now been shown to have failed three drug tests before 1988, all which were covered up. He admitted as much recently by saying, that is in the past and I will not talk about the past.

Linford Christie had failed a drug test but the result "overturned" prior to the Olympics.

Desai Williams a Canadian in the final was using roids.

That is at least four of the eight.

I can't remember the other four in the race but the chance they were clean is pretty minimal.

Every sprinter before the year 2000's had done something to enhance their performance. You look at Bolt and you can almost guarantee he hasn't touched an enhancement in his life. The guy is so thin yet runs like a gazel.

The worst cheaters are scum bags like Marian Jones who deny, deny, deny, deny, deny and then finally admit it. Whats the point? All you do is get yourself in more trouble and eventually end up in prison.

Also people whos mouths are watering over Michael Phelps need to get their minds checked, Usain Bolt is the greatest Olympic performer ever. And he does it with the same playing field as everyone else, he isn't double jointed to help his performance, and whats even more amazing, the guy is 6'5, huge for a sprinter.

I don't know about this. You can't go by looks.

hgh is as big or bigger than steroids - its the recovery time that makes those drugs so effective. You don't do the stuff sit on a couch and eat twinkies. It allows you to work out twice as hard and recover.

Bolt looks clean to me - Greatest sprinter in history of Olympics. Period.

Since he only lowered Johnsons record by .02, a record 12 YEARS OLD, its not exactly a huge performance to me. His 100 M performance was much more impressive untill he started show boating. I have a feeling that he will never be quite as good as he is right now and will regret not putting it all in that 100.
Bob Beamon's long jump was MUCH more impressive.

This is garbage about calling him the greatest olympian ever. TOTAL GARBAGE.

Best Sprinter ever. PERIOD

He broke 100M and 200m WORLD RECORDS.

And Michael Johnson's records in the day shattered all previous records.

I didn't like his 100 antics but his 200 world record was greatest sprint feat I have ever seen.
He totaly blew away field

Thats right- Michael Johnson SHATTERED the record in the 200. So he was MUCH more impressive.

Now I will say that the 100 M event was right up there- I think he will rue the day he showed off instead of going all out. Will he ever be as healthy and in as good a condition as he was that night?

Johnson set a record that many thought would not be broken for a long time. Bolt broke it. Both are pretty impressive feats.

to bad the Olympics belongs to Micheal Phelps

Only if you are American. Track is probably considered more important throughout the world.

Both did amazing jobs at the games so it is mostly just a matter of opinion.

Very debatable. Certainly impressive but I don't know that you can make this statement and expect it to be accepted.

There have been many, many great sprinters in the history of the games. Before I would call Bolt the best, I would have to see him sustain what he has done. Lewis and Owens are worthy of this kind of consideration but I don't think that Bolt is just yet.

Well, this is certainly not true. There is no doubt that these games belong to Phelps and there is no question about this.

In regards to your statement about track and field, again, very debatable. Track and Field is certainly popular in the US but so is Swimming. The world is 2/3 water. Swimming is definatly a sport that all major countries invest in greatly.

All the white world perhaps, but not the entire world.

You don't have Kenyans swimming and medalling, Eritreans etc

Swimming is a rich man's sport. Track anyone can run.

If as expected Jamaica wins the 4x100 Gold, Bolt will have been in 3 events and won all three. He has just been in fewer events.

As for greatest sprinter of all time, that is debatable but no way can you put a drug cheat like Lewis up there as the best ever. Jessie Owens, yeah possible but he wouldn't even qualify today.

At this point no one has run better 100, 200m in the same competition than Bolt. I think Valery Borzov was the last non cheating guy to do it in 1972 and he probably cheated too.
