I almost feel bad for Key. I thought he was a pretty good productive receiver. I didn't really know him from his stints with previous teams but, I became a fan of his with his ability to go over the middle and his hands. He did make some clutch catches in traffic.

I soured on him some when he left the Cowboys. He seemed to take it personally in a sport where he especially knows it's business first. Even he could see that TO is an upgrade. Yet he makes a comment about going to a team that will actually get into the playoffs. It was the way he said it that I thought sucked.

I felt alot better when Dallas punked the Panthers and KeyShawn had a subpar game. But watching him have to talk about his replacement during the draft was awesome. I bet he felt like a fool after they cut him shortly after.

I'm sure Keyshawn will get over it as he plays for another team this season. Guys get upset about being replaced even Tony Dorsett was upset as his role got diminished when Walker arrived so much that he demanded to be traded. I'm not saying it is right but these guys are highly competitive or they would not have achieved their goals of making it to the NFL in the 1st place they tend to think they are great and irreplaceable but I also think deep down they know they are after all some where down the line it was them who was replacing someone else.

Why feel bad? He had a pretty good career, maybe as one of the top 10 posession reciever ever.( NOT HOF material) He never changed much, even at the end of his career. Keyshawn let Delhomme take all of the blame for his blown fade route in the endzone at the end of the Eagles game, though it Meshawns' fault because he cut his route short. I still don't think he considers himself a role player, which is what he is; rather that he thinks he is still a Pro-Bowler.

Where were you the past 7 seasons? :p:

I agree. We're talking about Keyshawn Johnson, a disruptive player who allowed his mouth to have him kicked off the Buccaneers--to a productive player for the Cowboys (with mouth firmly shut). He'll put things back in perspective after he signs with another team.

It seemed to start in the late 80s with the WRs. Before that they were never like they are now. With the exception of Harrison and a few others, it seems like all WRs are just about all mouth and ego now.

Steve Largent...Jerry Rice...Marvin Harrison????????????

Jerry Rice was all about Jerry ..... dont kid yourself

Only Marvin Harrison broke the norm

And in my opinion, Steve Largent would not be a starter in todays NFL at wideout.

Didn't say if he could be a starter, stating that he did handle himself on the field.

He would start on my team if I were a coach.

No but he played politics behind the scenes to keep the O running through him ... which means it was all about him , which is what we were talking about ...... not if someone was "going crazy on the field" ...... Keyshawn did not go nuts on the field either.

I've not seen many WR's who will motion into the backfield to block down on 290 lbs. defensive ends. Most won't even block down on a 180 lbs. cornerback.

Thats right ...... you can be a "look at me" Diva and still be a team guy .....

Keyshawn and Michael Irvin are prime examples of that.

Seems like Marvin Harrison started whining a little this year about not getting the ball enough, as Wayne became the Colts #1 WR. But I've always kind of thought Marvin Harrison's accolaides about being such a "great guy" have been a little overblown. If you're Marvin Harrison, why would you complain? You've pretty much been the #1 target of the greatest passing offense and quarterback of this decade, and have consistantly been either at the top or near the top in passes thrown. I guess its because he doesn't do many endzone celebrations. For some reason, people really seem to pay a lot of attention to end zone celebrations.

Is that like saying Danny White could not be a starting QB in today's NFL? I think that you are seriously under-rating Steve Largent.
