Talent only carries you so far. Heart and desire are huge and doesn't seem to be thereI think the biggest red flag is the fact that he was kicked off of his team, chose another college, and instead of getting his act together and pursuing football at his new school he blew it off and entered the draft.
He sounds like a guy with a ton of talent, but an unwillingness to put in the effort and make a commitment. I probably wouldn't touch him until the 4th round if he carried a first round talent grade. If his talent level is anything other than first round, then the 5th round or later only.
Cant be worse than the digital wallet company IsisEspecially now days good Lord
No way for fans to judge these types of character issue players. Only the teams can interview the player and his college coaches to get a true feel for his issues.
"Al-Qaeda blows up the Combine!"
Fans can only judge the obvious issues. Manziel's antics were well chronicled and we saw many interviews with him.Yes, we can.
There's a reason why you don't hear anything negative about certain players and then there are players who always have negative news coming out about them.
It's hard to break engrained patterns.
I said it about T.O.
I said it about Greg Hardy.
I said it about Johnny Manziel.
And I went against my better judgment, but thought it about Randy Gregory.
When people have things in their lives that show consistent patterns of negative behavior, it's almost a sure bet those problems will surface again.
Fans can only judge the obvious issues. Manziel's antics were well chronicled and we saw many interviews with him.
Most college players are not that well know by fans and their issues are often misreported by the media. Many players that had issues in college went on to have success in the NFL. Randy Moss, Honey Badger, Janoris Jenkins, etc..
If a player has stayed out of trouble for a period of time after initially getting into trouble, I would be more willing to give them a chance than a guy like Randy Gregory that failed the drug test at the most critical time (The combine).
Al-Qaeda Muhammad The name alone would give me pause
My point is that fans have far less information about these players than what the teams have. The teams get to interview the players and the fans don't. If a team has a person or group of people that can determine the difference on these players with 80 or 90 percent accuracy, then that team would have a huge advantage. If they only know what the fans know, then they should just avoid all of these types of players; although, that list is way bigger than what is known to fans.Fair enough. But some things are just tell tale signs.
Randy Moss was simply immature, not necessarily a law breaker. And that immaturity followed him throughout his career. But there's no crime in being immature.
Honey Badger and Janoris Jenkins had incidents, but you didn't hear about repeated incidents with them.
I'm not saying no one can improve, but there are certain guys who have constant behavioral issues and they tend to follow them throughout their career.
I would be very temped to put Tim Williams though an intensive interview and background check if I was making draft decisions for the Cowboys. Being caught with a gun and weed in the car is not a big deal if that's the only incident.
Those rumors all appear to link back to one source.I've heard he's failed multiple drug tests. After what happened to Randy Gregory, I just don't want to deal with that anymore. And I truly believe had Randy Gregory been available to us the entire season, we would have played in the Super Bowl.
